So you all realize that just because the gov lifts the mandate doesn't mean any liberal company or city is going to abide correct? Look at Florida, Desantis didn't enforce the removal of the mandate and people are still being arrested in liberal cities for no masks. Texas is going to do the same thing. Walmarts grocery stores, cities like Austin and Dallas are still going to enforce these rules.

Idk why everyone celebrates this like its going to FORCE liberals to tell the truth.

Needs to be civil disobedience on steroids. Organise maskless Flash Mobs in Blue counties

agreed, but from my experience people are pussies. Shop at local mom and pops and fuck these large box stores.

The M&P stores shit all over the Big Box stores on everything but price and that is small beer when you consider that the middle class and American Dream depend on the little guys trading in little stores across the 50 states. It's what built America.

100% truth, buy American, buy local help the community.

In Texas, a business may be able to deny you entry for not wearing one, but you cannot be arrested or fined anymore.

Agreed, but liberal cities in Florida are still doing this even after Desantis removed the restriction by amending existing laws in their cities to make it mandated within city limits. Id bet at minimum Austin and Dallas will do the same.

We will find out. But Abbot was strong about it in the beginning and did not allow that type of enforcement until the State mandate was put into place.

He said today, after announcing that the restriction would be lifted:

"If COVID-19 hospitalizations rise above 15% for seven straight days for any region, county judges may opt to impose stricter COVID-19 mitigation strategies, but they cannot impose face mask restrictions or fines."

Lawyers will be ready.

They'll just fake the numbers again as they did before. Sorry for being so negative but they will not give up power. Its against their religion.

can we get off this ride now?

the only way off is swift death. Which at this point I'm ready for. Dont want to die, but also not giving into this trans humanist agenda either.

Same boat as you. Commiechusetts (or as we like to say right now, Maskachusetts) will be stuck with this crap for many years to come. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes permanent.

Londonrain [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

Shop mom and pops and strangle out the box stores. lol Maskachusetss I like it! I have family near mount tom up there. Beautiful place I loved it when I went there.

These large and “woke” probably feel giddy enforcing mask mandates where the authority to do so doesn’t exist

2
Londonrain [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

of course they do its the only way loser ass check out people and baggers have any power in life what so ever. They've made these people authority when they cant even find a real job.

Heroftheday 2 points ago +2 / -0

If you get rid of the masks then there's is no pandemic

1
Londonrain [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

Agreed. Although there never really was lol

2
usdodsgssog 2 points ago +2 / -0

The right way to do this is to make it illegal for anyone to enforce it. (which I believe a state is in the process of doing?) That also has the added benefit of protecting people in the future because you know the commies are gonna try plandemic 2.0 very soon.

2
Londonrain [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

This is exactly what should be done.

2
Heroftheday 2 points ago +2 / -0

Texas

Face coverings encouraged but not mandated and "no person may be required by any jurisdiction to wear or mandate the wearing of a face covering.

Companies that still mandate will fall in line quickly

If it's a national chain the employees will be wearing masks forever. If it's a local business, it depends on whether or not it's overrun with leftys. It's still a step in the right direction but we have a loooong way to go before we ever get anywhere near normal again.

2
Londonrain [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

yea well said.

2
VoidWanderer 2 points ago +2 / -0

If it's a national chain the employees will be wearing masks forever.

Maybe, maybe not. There are a few national chains around here in Florida where the management has removed the mandate and employees only wear them if they want to. It all depends on how much the management cares and how many leftists they have employed that would turn on them for virtue signal points.

1
usdodsgssog 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm glad to hear that. Gives me hope that even the chains won't keep this charade forever.

2
Londonrain [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

Ill wait and see, people are still being arrested in Florida.

Don't be lulled into thinking this is over. It's not. Abbott leaves the door open for local authorities and in particular businesses to continue on with this nonsense. This last year has shown us just how bad this emergency powers law is, passed but Dem supermajorities and a Dem governor back in 1975. We finally have the legislature in session, and it doesn't look like they are going to do a damn thing about this. Call your legislators today. Start with insisting they support these five bills HB 2196, 1406 2097, 2098 and SB 18. These are some of the most important bills that may have ever come before the legislature. We need this now more than ever. There are a long list of constitutional amendments on the table as well, for example allowing the legislature call itself into session.

HB2196 eliminates the power of the Governor to suspend laws under emergency powers. The Democrats passed an unconstitutional law granting these emergency powers in 1975 with super majorities and a democrat governor. It specifically violates Article 1 sec. 28 of the Texas constitution. You know, after the last dictator Republican Governor Davis ran roughshod over the state with martial law, suspending habeus corpus, imprisoning his political opposition, and refusing to leave office after he lost the election. He was finally removed from the capital at gunpoint in 1873. We amended the constitution in 1875 to fix that.

HB 2196 eliminates this democrat abomination from 1975. It stops Abbott from any further abuses. My representatives tell me this bill will likely get no Democratic support as they wait with baited breath for their next opportunity to "elect"/appoint a governor after the precedence that Abbott has set. Please support this bill with everything you have. We will likely need a 2/3 majority to pass it unless we bring Abbott to his knees and force him to sign it. https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/html/HB02196I.htm

HB1406 codes into law the power of the people to redress abuses of emergency powers in the courts by specifically defining standing for every citizen. I have been told that all of the lawsuits challenging Abbott's abuses have been dismissed on standing. https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/html/HB01406I.htm

HB 2097 Prevents the governor AND nd local authorities from mandating masks https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/pdf/HB02097I.pdf#navpanes=0. We need to add to that bill in the Senate to include private businesses.

HB 2098 Prevents the governor and local authorities from defining penalties for violating emergency rules. The governor shouldn't be the sole source to define laws, penalties, and then execute those penalties against the people. It's a separation of powers issue. https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/html/HB02098I.htm

SB 18 Prevents the governor and local authorities from regulating firearms, ammunition, and firearm related business under emergency powers. https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/html/SB00018I.htm

Based upon the precedence set by Abbott, here is where we stand in Texas. The governor can wait until immediately after a legislative session. Then he declares another bogus emergency. (Did you know we're still under emergency from Harvey?)

Let's say it's a climate change emergency this time! With that, we've seen that he then has virtually unlimited power to dictate and suspend laws and penalties up to and including stripping away all our most fundamental rights. The legislature can't assemble to check that power for two years. Even then at best, they can only pass bills that the governor won't sign. They'll need a 2/3 majority to override his veto.

So, the Governor legislates unconstitutional laws, sets penalties and enforces them, suspends laws, suspends our most fundamental rights, and the people need a 2/3 majority in the legislature to override him, two years later. Oh, and we have no standing to seek redress in the courts. That's the kind of government we have in Texas. Do everything you can to support these bills. If you thought Abbott was bad, and that this Covid nonsense is over wait until the next time the democrats come back into power.

I didn't know a mandates was law. Good luck enforcing a redacted mandate.

1
Londonrain [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

private businesses can continue to enforce this at will.
