Not really impressed with Texans after the last few weeks of bullshittery. Y'all couldn't handle a little bit of snow and still think you can secede. Gotta start manning up and truly learning how to take care of yourselves instead of flexing your e-braggadaccio.

The south isn't built to handle the snow. Nor should it be, really. We don't salt our roads. We don't own snow plows or snow shovels.

We don't get "snow" snow. We get "freezing rain, snow." Our roads don't collect snow. It melts instantly then refreezes as a half inch think sheet of black ice.

Snow "up north" isn't half as dangerous as snow in Texas. Which, happens once or twice a century.

Our power grid got hit hard because literally NONE of it is subterranean. Which, why would it be?

The Texas power situation was a fluke and no where near as bad as the media made it out to be.

The way northerners laughed at us when it was snowing here was the way we laugh at northerners when they call a couple of days in the 90's a heat wave.

I can't remember the last time a 90-degree heat wave completely crippled my state (when I still lived in the north), especially after I was wagging my balls around talking about how badass my state was for pretending it was capable of secession.

Fair enough. All I know is that I work in the water treatment business, haven't missed a shift since this covid bull shit started, worked my ass off during the freeze and after to make sure all our customers that we could keep on we did, and the ones that lost water, we got back on as soon as possible. Worked around the clock and was only limited by the bull shit politics that lead to power outages across the state. Today was a victory for me. Whether or not you see it that way is up to you. Congrats on how bad ass you are for being able to survive whatever you've been through. Cheers.

Get real. I've lived in the north and in the south and it's not fucking comparable at all. Obviously a heatwave doesn't have the same impact.

Do you want Texas to spend billions being prepared for weather situations that essentially never happen? We should have snowplows and sanders and labor to operate them ready to deploy all over the state, all the time?

Texas isn't prepared for a winter storm of that size and that is as it should be. Massive preparation for events that almost never occur would be a waste of money and labor as well as an opportunity cost.

I'm not the one who brought up the heat wave analogy you fucking dingbat
