Now get rid of the dumbass windmills

58
Aoikaze2000 58 points ago +59 / -1

Only if we can light them on fire, or figure out how to use them to make beer!

31
Oldschooltexan 31 points ago +31 / -0

Those windmills are not bio-degradable.

15
PB_Mack 15 points ago +15 / -0

Can turn them into cars.

39

Make guns!

15

This is the way

18
independentbystander 18 points ago +18 / -0

Some people see useless windmills. I see fields of do-it-yourself Catapult Kits, located right near the border where they should be.

Did you know that most of the guns we used in the Revolutionary War were homemade?

2
JuneofOz17 2 points ago +2 / -0

Really? That is interesting. How did they forge the barrels ?

1
War_Hamster 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have no freakin idea, but they were damn resourceful. I just learned that factoid recently.

Can use them for executions. Kabob them and spin them off afterwards into the field for the vultures to pick at.

1

They are mostly concrete... But! Concrete cars ftw!

2
PB_Mack 2 points ago +2 / -0

Most of the ones in Kansas use tubular steel towers.

15
Reddeath27 15 points ago +15 / -0

You can use them to make beer cans

Hopefully it doesn't make the beer taste like a dirty hippy tranny.

Such a fucking eyesore

22
Nancypelosisoldliver 22 points ago +22 / -0

I've driven though west texas about 4-6 times in the last 4 months probably. I usually go through at night time and all you can see is blinking red lights.

They're definitely behemoths to witness but I do agree, they aren't exactly pretty. It also doesn't help that they kill birds, cost loads of energy to manufacture, and don't work when texas freezes, which apparently is when texas needs power the most. So that's dissapointing lmao.

My gas car didn't need to be charged when the power went out and I got stuck in texas lmao

2
AmericanMan00 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bird Killers, not eco friendly.

13
thisisatestof2 13 points ago +13 / -0

We have a few of those in western Massachusetts. Every time I am in the area you’re driving along and you have some beautiful hills and mountains and then all of a sudden a giant fucking windmill Sticking out like a sore thumb on the top of the mountain.

Everyone who bought houses in the more rural areas because of the scenery, quiet life, etc. Hates those things.

4

Abbott saw this coming after the freeze fiasco. He knew his mandates were unpopular with most Texans but he bought into all of it. I sure hope we have some good options to primary him.

7
PP2020 7 points ago +7 / -0

Why? They’re already built.

I get not wasting subsidies on them. But they’re already built.

15
President_Elect_Marx 15 points ago +15 / -0

Because they damage the environment, disrupt migratory patterns, and are costly to maintain?

And oh by the way, they don’t work when frozen.

11
Reddit_is_Deddit 11 points ago +11 / -0

disrupt migaratory patterns

Isn't that what the wall is for? ;)

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +9 / -1

So you're suggesting we take the windmills down and mount the blades on The Wall as an additional deterrent?

I like how you think.

1
JuneofOz17 1 point ago +1 / -0

Truth.

1
Daniel644 1 point ago +1 / -0

to be fair they don't work when it's freezing because Texas didn't spend the money winterize them thinking it wouldn't be needed and it wouldn't have been needed if Texas had been allowed to ramp back up more traditional methods of energy production to respond to the impending winter weather.

I’m pretty sure all of those things are capable of surviving ice storms without intervention or treatment. We have about 5 ice storms a year ‘round here and the nuke plant stays online. People don’t have to go out and hose it down with toxic chemicals - unlike your idiotic windmills.

Also, maybe think about calling people ‘moron’ when your reading comprehension is roughly that of a third-grader’s.

Was in Texas for a wedding summer of 2019. Drove out in the middle of nowhere and found a dive bar on a ranch in a barn.

Sat down with the locals and had lone star for the first time. Was fun as hell talking to real Texans. Everyone of them in there hated commies and despised the city of Austin.

Anyways, God bless Texas patriots 🇺🇸

It is nothing like actual Texas.

Before everyone starts praising Texas. The deep state is deep down here and Texans have been doing too much praising and not enough work. A lot needs to change in Texas

47
Benwa1985 [S] 47 points ago +49 / -2

Agreed but you have to celebrate the small victories when you get them and then get back to work.

38
Animator 38 points ago +38 / -0

I agree with this, but it also sucks to have to be thankful to have back freedoms that weren't theirs to infringe on in the first place. Like, oh, thank you government for allowing me to breath fresh air again? Thank you for lifting these completely unscientific, ineffective and grotesque abuses of power? Not once had any of these measures proven to be even slightly effective by any metric, and yet they stayed in place for the better part of a year.

I refused to comply, but having the state behind it sure gave a bunch of obnoxious Karens license to bitch me out for not mindlessly following these stupid mandates. It made life absolutely miserable having all these neurotic hypochondriacs too stupid to do any research chew me out like I'M the crazy one.

And then Abbott has the fucking nerve to say "People and businesses don't need the state telling them how to operate." That's where you should've STARTED, dumbass. If you don't err on the side of liberty by default, you shouldn't be in the Republican party and you definitely shouldn't be let anywhere near a position of power.

EDIT: I realize his mandates didn't have any teeth legally and that the freedoms weren't actually taken away by force, but the bigger issue is the social pressure it caused and aggravated the irrational hysteria surrounding the most overblown non-emergency in modern history.

10
War_Hamster 10 points ago +11 / -1

Yup, we needed to stand up to the tyrants' mask narrative much earlier. Some of us did, but none who has a large enough voice.

They just got rid of mask mandates like a few hours ago.

4

1

If they're telling you where you can go, when, what you must wear - that's not freedom.

If you accept them getting rid of mask mandates, then you accept they have authority to tell you when to wear masks. That's not freedom. It's the opposite of freedom.

Don't be lulled into thinking this is over. It's not. Abbott leaves the door open for local authorities and in particular businesses to continue on with this nonsense. This last year has shown us just how bad this emergency powers law is, passed but Dem supermajorities and a Dem governor back in 1975. We finally have the legislature in session, and it doesn't look like they are going to do a damn thing about this. Call your legislators today. Start with insisting they support these five bills HB 2196, 1406 2097, 2098 and SB 18. These are some of the most important bills that may have ever come before the legislature. We need this now more than ever. There are a long list of constitutional amendments on the table as well, for example allowing the legislature call itself into session.

HB2196 eliminates the power of the Governor to suspend laws under emergency powers. The Democrats passed an unconstitutional law granting these emergency powers in 1975 with super majorities and a democrat governor. It specifically violates Article 1 sec. 28 of the Texas constitution. You know, after the last dictator Republican Governor Davis ran roughshod over the state with martial law, suspending habeus corpus, imprisoning his political opposition, and refusing to leave office after he lost the election. He was finally removed from the capital at gunpoint in 1873. We amended the constitution in 1875 to fix that.

HB 2196 eliminates this democrat abomination from 1975. It stops Abbott from any further abuses. My representatives tell me this bill will likely get no Democratic support as they wait with baited breath for their next opportunity to "elect"/appoint a governor after the precedence that Abbott has set. Please support this bill with everything you have. We will likely need a 2/3 majority to pass it unless we bring Abbott to his knees and force him to sign it. https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/html/HB02196I.htm

HB1406 codes into law the power of the people to redress abuses of emergency powers in the courts by specifically defining standing for every citizen. I have been told that all of the lawsuits challenging Abbott's abuses have been dismissed on standing. https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/html/HB01406I.htm

HB 2097 Prevents the governor AND nd local authorities from mandating masks https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/pdf/HB02097I.pdf#navpanes=0. We need to add to that bill in the Senate to include private businesses.

HB 2098 Prevents the governor and local authorities from defining penalties for violating emergency rules. The governor shouldn't be the sole source to define laws, penalties, and then execute those penalties against the people. It's a separation of powers issue. https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/html/HB02098I.htm

SB 18 Prevents the governor and local authorities from regulating firearms, ammunition, and firearm related business under emergency powers. https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/87R/billtext/html/SB00018I.htm

Based upon the precedence set by Abbott, here is where we stand in Texas. The governor can wait until immediately after a legislative session. Then he declares another bogus emergency. (Did you know we're still under emergency from Harvey?)

Let's say it's a climate change emergency this time! With that, we've seen that he then has virtually unlimited power to dictate and suspend laws and penalties up to and including stripping away all our most fundamental rights. The legislature can't assemble to check that power for two years. Even then at best, they can only pass bills that the governor won't sign. They'll need a 2/3 majority to override his veto.

So, the Governor legislates unconstitutional laws, sets penalties and enforces them, suspends laws, suspends our most fundamental rights, and the people need a 2/3 majority in the legislature to override him, two years later. Oh, and we have no standing to seek redress in the courts. That's the kind of government we have in Texas. Do everything you can to support these bills. If you thought Abbott was bad, and that this Covid nonsense is over wait until the next time the democrats come back into power.

13
Benwa1985 [S] 13 points ago +13 / -0

I definitely agree it's not over but it's a big fucking step in the right direction. Probably an attempt to save face in the upcoming elections. In my opinion too little too late for Abbot. My votes for Allen West if he decides to run.

9
dldeuce 9 points ago +9 / -0

We'll see if the businesses fall in line. I bet a lot of them won't. I was in a restaurant when I heard this. I asked the waiter what he thought about it. You know, where you only wear your mask in the door and to your table. Then the waitstaff serve you without masks, but they have to wear one. He said he thought it was too early. That without the order, people won't be responsible. Then later, he admitted and agreed with me that masks don't work and have had no impact across the board. These people are indoctrinated idiots. Until the businesses fall in line, it's not over.

10
Benwa1985 [S] 10 points ago +10 / -0

They will when they start losing money to businesses that don't require mask. Most people are over it. If I have an option now I will take my money to businesses that leave it up to the customer. Hopefully so will many others.

4
dldeuce 4 points ago +5 / -1

Most people aren't over it here. I was at lunch today, and I asked the waiter what he thought about the new order. He said he thought it was too early, while he wore a cloth bandana in a restaurant where none of the customers have a mask. Later he admitted and agreed with me that masks don't work, but he thinks we should still be forced to. They're all mindless idiot robots.

5
TheTelltaleFly 5 points ago +6 / -1

Georgia hasn’t had government mask mandates ever, but all the businesses still do. They are idiots. But guess what, you can go to the freaking DMV with no mask and there are no mask signs and nobody jacks you up about a mask. The employees wear masks but they can’t say jack to you about it. It’s nice.

6
dldeuce 6 points ago +6 / -0

It's the businesses that are the problem. If I had to wear a mask when I went to a government office about every two years, not so bad. Having to wear one to buy a Pepsi (you notice I didn't say coke?) at the convenience store isn't quite as convenient. I feel sorry for the poor people that have to wear them everyday. I feel sorry for the children, especially the youngest children. I have a deaf cashier at my grocery. I really feel sorry for her. If the dictators end their orders but allow business to carry on, they're nothing but coward politicians and liars. It's not over until these traitor businesses fall in line. A lawsuit by just one of these big box chain stores would have put an end to all of this a long time ago. I haven't heard of a single lawsuit. They're all traitors.

4
EnforcerDesu 4 points ago +4 / -0

Where I live (not Atlanta) the big box stores have signs but they do not bother you. No one else requires masks except some SJW restaurants downtown. Most doctor's offices here don't require them either.

3
Louisianative 3 points ago +3 / -0

My job immediately posted that we’re gonna continue wearing masks and not follow the new mandate. We’re going off “cdc and corporate guidelines” now. Nothings going to change for us.

2
dldeuce 2 points ago +2 / -0

People are going to be really surprised on Wednesday when they come into the stores and still see the signs and these corporate traitors are prepared to double down with the Karen mobs and police.

2
dldeuce 2 points ago +2 / -0

Right, and on January 20th, the massive nationwide drop in the number of positive covid cases started. In Harris county, ie Houston, on their public health web page from the very beginning of this back in March they've had a chart, front and center, showing the history of daily positive cases. I've noticed it's not there anymore. They've buried it, and I'm not even sure it's there at all. We know why they've done that, because the only wanted to publicize the graph going up, not down. This is all part of the top to bottom global fraud. All of this has been planned, and Abbott is just one step up from the bottom.

Ahhh I can’t wait to see the “I hope you kill grandma” shit all over Reddit

thisisatestof2 4 points ago +4 / -0

I happened to see an article about this posted on the Facebook page of my local alphabet network in New England. About 75 to 80% of the comments were praising Texas, the rest were screaming “it’s too soon”,” millions are going to die”, etc.

Let me tell you a secret. Old people die at some point. It happens to every living thing. Grandma at 90 years old is just a breath away from dieing. When you get over 70 your living on borrowed time. What I'm trying to say if reddit people your killing grandma, say we don't get out of this alive. Some sooner than later. Watch them sputter

Let's move that up to 80. 70 is still young!

KernalMustard 1 point ago +1 / -0

My granfather died at 71 in 1990 died from heart failure my Father is 73, and just a bit overweight. It scares me that in a few years I might be the only immediant family member alive. My brother looked ill last I saw him and hes just 43. Sister died at 39. It's scary. I'm 47 unmarried and no children. No major health problems. Being a farmer might have helped with that being healthy. Hard work and all.

I think Abbott got scared! Oh well, I still don’t trust the backstabber, but if he’s figured out that it’s in his best interest not to screw us over, so much the better. In any case, HOORAY FOR NO MORE COVID!!!

JuneofOz17 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don’t trust Abbott anymore....not sure what is up with him.....

Waco419 8 points ago +8 / -0

Now rescind any and all dumbshit laws that allows government to lock us down in the first place. Make any attempts to do so a capital crime.

Your state bleeds freedom god bless

4
QSWO1 4 points ago +7 / -3

-3
Worldpower -3 points ago +5 / -8

You sound like a leftist

5
QSWO1 5 points ago +7 / -2

I live in Texas. Do you? My comment may ruffle a faggots feathers. That does not mean its wrong.

-6
Worldpower -6 points ago +2 / -8

7
RBFace 7 points ago +7 / -0

We need a celebratory mask burning!!!

6
PKShadilay 6 points ago +6 / -0

Too bad I'll probably still be subjected to health screenings and masks for work (Walmart). I'd quit, but my pay is increasing to $15 an hour starting March 13 and the other places that pay similar wages won't hire me. The joys of being high function autistic and social awkward.

6
RedTX 6 points ago +6 / -0

Great day to be a Texan, for sure—cheers to you as well.

6
FrankZappaSA 6 points ago +6 / -0

Texan here. FUCK MASKS! I’m done with them!!! Possibly Best day in a year!!!

5
Mishabird 5 points ago +5 / -0

Watch the media set up for Chyna flu increases from taking off the masks......when it’s from infected illegals running all through the state thanks to Joepedo’s border opening.

5
Wrexxis780 5 points ago +5 / -0

The mandates should have ended months ago

7
Urusovite 7 points ago +7 / -0

WRONG! They should have never happened, period! I love my state, and we are still a red state and a badass fucking state (we have an AG who got half the country to sue the government!) but we have got to get a better stronger governor.

4
Block_Helen 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yep, Abbott is growing some balls so he can get re-elected. But hey I'll take it. Keep the pressure on.

1
JuneofOz17 1 point ago +1 / -0

I agree. Abbott has gotten soft. Who is threatening him ??

Twitter is going nuts over this

I’ve never seen a bunch of faggots that didn’t want to go back to work and back to a normal life.

4
gtrman97 4 points ago +4 / -0

I just read that business’s can still require them though, fucking bullshit.

4
Benwa1985 [S] 4 points ago +5 / -1

I think it's fine that businesses can set their own rules for inside their walls. They have the freedom to lose or gain business according to their decisions.

3
comakevin76 3 points ago +3 / -0

It is Glorious.

3
PatriotGabriel 3 points ago +3 / -0

I hate being in NJ

3
Benwa1985 [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Start heading south.

3
JigglesV 3 points ago +3 / -0

New Yorker here wondering which will be opened first the state, a new law suit, or a funeral home,

2
Heywood_youblowme 2 points ago +2 / -0

Good luck.

At my part time job we stopped enforcing and wearing. I encountered hundreds, maybe thousands of people and the only person who said shit to me was a New Yorker travelling through. Never met such a brainwashed person in my life.

3
Samurai-Doom-Guy 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thats it im moving to Texas

3
123breadman 3 points ago +3 / -0

Is it never mildly cold in texas or what?

7
Benwa1985 [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

Pretty much hot or cold. Today's about as perfect as it gets in my opinion though.

5
DrNilesCrane___ 5 points ago +5 / -0

65 is mildly cold! I've been wearing a jacket all day

5
BabyPede 5 points ago +5 / -0

yea we got two seasons really: oven baked and shallow freezer

4
booblitchutz 4 points ago +4 / -0

Sorry buddy, thought you were shitting on us for the polar plunge. We get a lot of that here.

Yes Texas winters, especially in central Texas and to the south are usually quite mild. Lows in the 40s if it's a cold snap, highs in the 60s. MAYBE for a few hours down into the 30s.

2
123breadman 2 points ago +2 / -0

OK yea that's what I was asking about because "I'm like 65 degrees? Is that special weather?"

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
5
DrNilesCrane___ 5 points ago +5 / -0

I think they are saying that we are either extremely cold or hot, without anything in between

2
booblitchutz 2 points ago +2 / -0

oh yeah probably. okay.

3
Revelation2010 3 points ago +3 / -0

Cheers patriot! From your brother state of Florida.

3
HookInMouth2 3 points ago +3 / -0

Good. Now the rest fall like dominoes

3
Royaljoker28 3 points ago +3 / -0

This is a good picture I tell ya what.

3
bg_dk_nrg 3 points ago +3 / -0

Not one time did I wear a mask. Not one time was I approached and asked/told to wear a mask. Not like I was worried about it prior to todays lift. I just wouldn't obey something that wasn't a LAW. Abbott can still kiss my big dick energy ass.

2
GoldNavet 2 points ago +2 / -0

Envious😊😊😊
