😂 Funny you said that! I’ve been on a Rockford files kick lately and they smoke like a mother!

Great observation and true! There’s a couple episodes of Andy Griffith smoking but just a few

yes, 'smoking is cool' is not indoctrination

got to go farther back than that.

I've been watching William Powell and Myrna Loy, and Bob Hope movies. Mostly from the 30's and 40's. Very relaxing.

Doris Day and Rock Hudson. A powerful remedy for twerking and OnlyFans culture..

I hear you. My suspension of disbelief powers have been so taxed with modern garbage, I can look past that and just enjoy the fashion and the manners. At least they were good at pretending to be alphas...

Myrna Loy and Cary Grant. Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House. Love that movie!

It's a million times better but if you look carefully it's still there, just not in your face.

TV was made to indoctrinate.

2
Jscott 2 points ago +2 / -0

Morogth what are you doing here I thought you were cast into the void by The Valar

3
Morgoth 3 points ago +3 / -0

Even the lord of darkness is tired of this shit.

1
SnowflakeJuice 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah but I prefered when it indoctrinated us to hate Commies, now I it is indoctrinating to become them

2
Morgoth 2 points ago +2 / -0

Look below the surface. Even honeymooners portrayed the husband as moronic and dumb. Archie bunker was meant to be a characterture of conservatives.

Is there a show that's ever been made that did not promote sex outside of marriage as normal?

How many Christian characters can you name that aren't portrayed as naive or bigoted?

1
SnowflakeJuice 1 point ago +1 / -0

And Lucy was essentially a stereotypical Bimbo. In the old days, all stereotypes were fair game, that is the way it should be

Watch Buck Rogers from 1981. It's now available on Bluray in HD.

They allowed beautiful women to exist without cramming in tokens.

Cut the cord 10 years ago. My OTA offers stuff I never watched "back in the day". Rawhide, Have Gun Will Travel, Perry Mason, Quantum Leap,..... ALL better than the crap they've put out in the last 20 or so years. Except 'According to Jim'. Jim's a funny guy.

TV and movies from up to the mid-90's has so much soul and depth compared to the bland shit you see today. Also I hope for a TV/Movie.win board someday!^^

Try watching "Family Affair" reruns on IMDB. Such a cute show!

5
MsAnthropic 5 points ago +5 / -0

It always feels so weird to watch movies from a few decades ago - there’ll be a black guy in the movie but he’s just a character like anyone else and he happens to be black, his race isn’t a definition of his character. He’s just a guy, not a Person Of Color.

sciencebeforegod 5 points ago +5 / -0

I’ve been watching late 70’s gameshows. Family Feud and Match Game are awesome! Richard Dawson was a pimp back in the day and he’s on both of these shows.

BUZZR on PlutoTV is all old game shows. It's free and 100x better than watching modern crap. Also there's a "The Price Is Right" Bob Barker years channel. "The Tonight Show", "Carol Burnett Show", Classic movies, Westerns, all on Pluto for free. Why bother with cable?

I'm watching all the episodes of Barney Miller.

It's amazing ... they were able to address current issues and actually be funny.

It's almost as if their focus was on entertainment rather than preaching a narrative.

BiteMeMarxist 2 points ago +2 / -0

That show was great!

So NYC!!!

ibepokey 5 points ago +5 / -0

without all of the social justice indoctrination.

Pluto TV has threes company 24x7! With SJW ads in between...

4
ibepokey 4 points ago +4 / -0

as long as you ignore that show was made to debase families, and promote promiscuity, and faggotry.

Love me some threes company! Chrissy was Hawt!!!

The last 10 years, I’ve been a major fan of westerns. I got to meet and talk to Ro Bert Fuller...Jess on Laramie. He is a great patriot. Westerns have a REAL storyline, unlike many modern shows.

Gunsmoke and Bonanza, where no liberal bitches are found. And if they are, Marshal Dillon shoots them or Little Joe kicks their ass.

1
Dman82 1 point ago +1 / -0

Gumsmoke is the best ever. The 30 minute episodes were the best but all the black and white ones were good, I was not a fan of newly I guess that's how it is spelled he was a bitch and the show started going downhill after that. But when Milburn stone died it started really sucking . The gunsmoke movies were terrible it was sad how old Matt and kitty looked. I have been waiting for the dumbasses to come for westerns for a while. That's about all I watch anymore.

METV around here, Memorable Entertainment Television. 95% of the time. HD Antenna, zero cable. And I learn everything about prostate health and incontinence products, lol.

Ariel125 4 points ago +4 / -0

We’ve been watching only old stuff lately, too!

4
DudePlayingaDude 4 points ago +4 / -0

Most people have to have that drug, no matter what.

4
Uncle_Remus 4 points ago +4 / -0

I watch old Twilight Zone and Star Trek to fall asleep to.

4
TheUsurper 4 points ago +4 / -0

I have been doing this for a while. I am much happier. New sitcoms are completely unwatchable. Even "Friends" would not make it past the pilot episode today.

Ah my childhood tv shows

3
ArkansasMaven 3 points ago +3 / -0

Give me The Lone Ranger, The Amazing World of Gumball, court TV shows and cooking competition shows. I have no cable any more and I don't stream much off anything. No Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. It's fun to notice the smokers, many of whom I didn't notice the first time around. Even the dad on Father Knows Best, Robert Young, smoked right in the kid's faces. Ha!! Not that I condone that. Lucy and Desi, Bob Newhart and Andy, as was already mentioned.

CyberSolider33 3 points ago +3 / -0

Black and white is best, but there’s some good stuff from the 70’s.

2
Sl0re10 2 points ago +2 / -0

Foreign shows don't tend to have woke [email protected] either.

2
BoughtByBloomberg2 2 points ago +2 / -0

I recently dipped back into old superhero shows. Really good stuff. Almost makes you wish we'd defunded every college decades ago.

2

Just binged watched The Mentalist, was enjoyable.

Father Knows Best Knight Rider Beverley Hillbillies Night Stalker ~ CBS Radio Dramas ~ They still advertise in most of these shows but the difference is that most of the products don’t exist anymore. Works out nicely. Also very easy to see with the separation of time how we switched paradigms and that we can’t go back, only forward to a better future, and that it will take work to improve our lot.

I actually love the 60's and 70's shows that address social issues...

I remember being a kid and watching Sanford & Son and it reinforced what I already knew -- people are just people!

Today I enjoy re-watching shows like that.
