Neck Restraints and choke holds are prohibited. Instructors are prohibited from teaching the use of neck restraints or choke holds.
MN Statute section 609.06 Subd. 3 (b) defines a choke hold “as a method by which a person applies sufficient pressure to a person to make breathing difficult or impossible, and includes but is not limited to any pressure to the neck, throat, or windpipe that may prevent or hinder breathing, or reduce intake of air. Choke hold also means applying pressure to a person's neck on either side of the windpipe, but not to the windpipe itself, to stop the flow of blood to the brain via the carotid arteries.”
I don't get it... So is it or is it not prohibited (or allowed)?
Of course it didn’t. I love how people love to pretend like you can’t modulate the pressure by leaning into, or away from the knee on the suspects body. People are fucking simpletons constantly looking to be outraged at something they can use to further their agenda. Even if he angled himself to cause as much pain and discomfort as possible, Chauvin still didn’t kill GOOD BOI FLOID.
As someone who participated in subduing and restraining numerous combative patients and inmates in psychiatric hospitals and prisons over a period of 33 years, I can only add: you are correct. I tried not to hover my knee over a subdued patient's neck because it was a potentially dangerous move. Meaning, If I shifted my weight the wrong way I could potentially injure the patient's (or inmate's) neck. But, again, Saint Floyd had no neck injury. So Chauvin did not injure or kill Saint Floyd.

Either way the knee on the neck did not kill Fentanyl Floyd or contribute to his death in any way.
