As someone who participated in subduing and restraining numerous combative patients and inmates in psychiatric hospitals and prisons over a period of 33 years, I can only add: you are correct. I tried not to hover my knee over a subdued patient's neck because it was a potentially dangerous move. Meaning, If I shifted my weight the wrong way I could potentially injure the patient's (or inmate's) neck. But, again, Saint Floyd had no neck injury. So Chauvin did not injure or kill Saint Floyd.
