Was it wildlife or livestock? If they destroyed livestock that opens up a whole can of worms called the Department of Agriculture. Specifically, the animal in the picture is considered livestock. If she had other animals that were actually wildlife then she could get in trouble for that without a permit because of the "wild" part. You don't need a permit for livestock. You just have to make sure you have the right zoning for the livestock you are getting, if there is any. Most rural areas have no restrictions at all. Context needed.

They were wild, but unable to live in the wild on their own (stunted deer, Down Syndrome blind raccoon, one legged crow, etc). She was on a waiting list for a permit to keep them. Some Karen made a complaint to the state about her. Sad.
