I'd bet money that there are leftist Pink Floyd fans and right wing Pink Floyd fans.
I'd bet money an asian from south korea would enjoy american hip hop and an american would enjoy south korean pop.
Music is the language we all speak, I'd argue music is where people from all walks of life find common ground. I have never seen someone argue with someone about music.
fundamentally I agree, but I'd predict some people will try to build fences, and eventually walls. "Too much Synthwave on the front page", they'll cry. I'm open to being wrong. Everyone's got their bag as well as diverse tastes, but someone will always not enjoy a certain flavor for one reason or another.
If a genre is always on the front page it means it is collectively liked by the community, I have been a member of r/music for a long time and never seen anything like that.
