I'm grateful I got to listen to him for 30 years. It was always going to end someday, we know that. It's the nature of things. We must learn from, and enjoy, every single day we are here. We hold a brief candle, and it's our role to pass the light on to others.

Rush did exactly that. Rush passed his light on to MILLIONS of others. A life well-lived, a legacy to be admired. He made the right enemies, as will anyone who stands up for principles.

I like the idea of making the EIB truly a network of solid conservative analysts, conservative voices. But it must not become a bunch of strident complainers. Rush LOVED what he was doing, "having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have". It was his cheerful tone, his "Look what the drive-bys are saying now! This is too funny...." approach that made his optimism so appealing.
