The books are just too complex for her to read and explain to joe at bed time. The rhymes were just too hard to explain to joe. Fun with Dick and Jane books are more joes style. He can sniff jane on the cover. He didn't like sniffing the green eggs and ham.

I read somewhere that they started to hate Dr. Seuss after Melania gave some of his books as a gift to some school in Massachusetts recently.
