I've lost my parents..... 🚔 PARTY OF CRIME 🚔
posted ago by MikelovesTrump ago by MikelovesTrump +1327 / -2

So, I went to visit my parents after almost a year of them refusing physical visits. They now feel somewhat safe. My dad decides to start trashing Trump. He was spitting out every lie that we've seen shared by CNN/MSNBC/ fake news. He claimed that there was no voter fraud, no antifa at the capital and that the Proud Boys are the ones who burned down cities last year and that BLM was trying to protect their communities. He then went on a rant that I shouldn't have a right to say anything because I didn't vote when I was 24 years old. He made the ridiculous statement that we came SO close to losing our Democracy. My son and I sadly got up and quietly walked out from the visit. My parents are lost. They spent the last 4 years being programmed and there is no hope. They have been lied to so much that no amount of "proof" will change their minds.

Many older people are suffering a kind of ptsd due to the corvid fear mongering, political panic, isolation, lack of contact, socializing, smiles, etc... its really sad, dont give up, call them, keep connection, books, art, music, food, anything away from the news for a while... my folks finally agreed that no news is best....

There are based and woke in every generation. When I think of a Marxist leftist, Grandma's image does not pop into my mind. I think of the teen and college age kids rioting last summer - the masses of indoctrinated pouring out of our schools.

Anyone who listens, unquestioning, to establishment sources will be brainwashed. Doesn't matter if it is the MSM or your history Professor. After that, you can tell them something is 100% factual, even show hard evidence to back up your position, and they will simply claim you're lying or making it up and re-write history to fit their agenda. They KNOW the sky is green.

It's kind of evolved in the last 2-4years from refusing that your evidence is true to "That IS true, but that's only because <insert unproven claim of racism/etc>" - it makes it impossible to argue with them because they'll just revert to point 1 on any further discussion.

They were indoctrinating commie theory in my high school, we all thought it was a joke...

Old people are floating in the darkness, and when they find a thought they hold onto it. They don't consider context or other thoughts like someone with a healthy brain. They hold onto that one thought with everything they have, for fear of slipping back into the darkness where they can't keep a train of thought or remember where they are. "Old" for some people is 50. Those people keep up appearances for years and can talk and do things as if their brain works, but they are slowly losing it.

Pede it sounds like you personally know of some old people who are mentally losing it, but many old folks are still quite sharp. Some of them are Pedes right here with us!!!

Thank you, Granny. I'm a 74 yr old MAGA pede, Trump supporter, patriot. Age is not the problem here.

Pede 5 points ago +5 / -0

Indeed mentally "old" can be a wide range of ages, like I suggested. I know people over 70 who can think through things very well. People's bodies and likewise their brains decline, and I think that's how their thinking changes in not being willing to think on the outskirts of a thought as much because they are less adept at holding it all together. So the point is, when an old person is being stubborn or alarmingly brainwashed as the OP's parents, even if they seem quite functional it may be more a decline than anything external, if they weren't always like that.

Here's the deal:

IQ declines as people get older. The decline starts at different ages, and progresses at different rates for different people. The decline becomes most apparent after retirement, when most people simply use their brain less. Most people do not lose very much, which is a good thing, because most people do not have a lot to lose. The average IQ is 100, and if you've ever had a conversation with an IQ 100, you know that they're pretty much dumbfucks. Now, imagine that dumbfuck with ten or fifteen fewer IQ points.

That's very thoughtful of you and shows your caring!

Pede must know Pedo Joe.

Pede 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah we all have to think of former vice president Joe Biden, and at many times he seems to be ok. But he's not.

ROTFLMAO. I am 71. No way am I “keep up appearances for years and can talk and do things as if their brain works, but they are slowly losing it.”. You sound like a no-nothing millennial

I find it very hard to believe that a 71 year old is on a PC and on this website. From experience other 71 year olds don't even know how the TV remote works.

Jesus kid I’ve been surfing for almost 30 yrs, and I am low tech. Used to have two land lines...one just for the internet.

If you are being serious, you cannot be a very intelligent person.

There is a serious problem in this country where people see a handful of people act a certain way and then they think everyone acts that same way.

Very well said. These people isolated themselves from the world and their only outlet was the TV. It's a downward spiral of ever increasing fear and a detachment from reality. Once they get out and around people they'll come back down to earth hopefully, but we'll see. I'm sorry they were so scared and kept you away. Enjoy the time with your boy and being the best dad you can.

My boomer dad thinks the local abc/nbc/cbs affiliate isn't fake news and he's super smart because he doesn't watch cnn. Believes all the shit op's dad does. My mom and I can show him video evidence and he denies it. Boomers didn't kill krauts mouthbreather. Their parents did.

Deadpool 41 points ago +42 / -1

You beat me to it. The “greatest generation” killed the krauts. The boomers were their kids. 👌 well said pede.

bar_zangi 25 points ago +29 / -4

exactly, the boomers are that weak generation that made the hard times we're living in

No, the boomers were split into conservatives and rabble rouser spoiled brat hippies like Bill Clinton. The hippies voted Dem and Liberal. It is the Dems and Liberals that cause all of our problems today, and their kids and grandkids. My generation thought communism was bad. Now most millennials think it is good. Thank a Commie Dem teacher for that.

TheTuckerDiaries 20 points ago +20 / -0

That’s me but switch dad with mom. Be patient as we know there is a communist plan to break up the family

NotAPuma 20 points ago +21 / -1

Agreed. Millennials aren't faring well.

FutileConundrum 13 points ago +13 / -0

Yeah. My hubby and I are millennials.

We are in the minority of our generation.

HunterLuvsCrack 11 points ago +11 / -0

We are a rare few, I’m 25 and almost all of my friends now after college are 40+ for good reason.
