I've lost my parents..... 🚔 PARTY OF CRIME 🚔
posted ago by MikelovesTrump ago by MikelovesTrump +1327 / -2

So, I went to visit my parents after almost a year of them refusing physical visits. They now feel somewhat safe. My dad decides to start trashing Trump. He was spitting out every lie that we've seen shared by CNN/MSNBC/ fake news. He claimed that there was no voter fraud, no antifa at the capital and that the Proud Boys are the ones who burned down cities last year and that BLM was trying to protect their communities. He then went on a rant that I shouldn't have a right to say anything because I didn't vote when I was 24 years old. He made the ridiculous statement that we came SO close to losing our Democracy. My son and I sadly got up and quietly walked out from the visit. My parents are lost. They spent the last 4 years being programmed and there is no hope. They have been lied to so much that no amount of "proof" will change their minds.

Many older people are suffering a kind of ptsd due to the corvid fear mongering, political panic, isolation, lack of contact, socializing, smiles, etc... its really sad, dont give up, call them, keep connection, books, art, music, food, anything away from the news for a while... my folks finally agreed that no news is best....

Old people are floating in the darkness, and when they find a thought they hold onto it. They don't consider context or other thoughts like someone with a healthy brain. They hold onto that one thought with everything they have, for fear of slipping back into the darkness where they can't keep a train of thought or remember where they are. "Old" for some people is 50. Those people keep up appearances for years and can talk and do things as if their brain works, but they are slowly losing it.

Pede it sounds like you personally know of some old people who are mentally losing it, but many old folks are still quite sharp. Some of them are Pedes right here with us!!!

Indeed mentally "old" can be a wide range of ages, like I suggested. I know people over 70 who can think through things very well. People's bodies and likewise their brains decline, and I think that's how their thinking changes in not being willing to think on the outskirts of a thought as much because they are less adept at holding it all together. So the point is, when an old person is being stubborn or alarmingly brainwashed as the OP's parents, even if they seem quite functional it may be more a decline than anything external, if they weren't always like that.
