If you don't understand how important a high school diploma is by the time your 17, you deserve your fate. Hope he enjoys working at McDonalds because it's his fault just as much as it is his mothers.

That sort of awareness is instilled by parenting and good examples. But at some point responsibility must be taken by someone or the cycle will continue.
