He’s willing to fight? Really? He was late or absent 272 times!! Stop blaming the government indoctrination centers and look in the mirror. You are a terrible mother. I’m guessing dad isn’t around either.

Working 3 jobs and raising 3 kids alone (assuming dad isn’t in the picture) can’t be easy. I’m sure she expected some sort of responsibility from her son. Defending her son now though? That’s bad parenting. He fucked up bigly and clearly needs some accountability. How is he shocked when he fails virtually all his classes?

I give the mother credit for working instead of being a welfare queen. But that's it.

I can see her being pissed off ** IF** she truly never got any notice that he was failing. Also, it's true that the school kept promoting him despite him failing almost all of his classes.

But you're right: She is not holding her son - or herself - accountable at all. It's all the school's fault, the system's fault. They failed her son, he didn't fail at anything!

Worse, she is teaching her children not to take responsibility for themselves, too.

I can't imagine that her son is going to pass that "accelerated" program she enrolled him in if he goes in with the attitude that everything bad that ever happens to him is someone else's fault.

Spot on. By blaming only the school, that is giving a pass to her so. Who was late of absent a shitload.

I do think the school deserves the majority of the blame though. If the policy of the school is to request a parent/teacher meeting whenever a child is failing, the the other parents of students who are doing worse get calls and say, “fuck it, idgaf is my kid is failing”?

Everyone at that school should be fired.
