The main thing 'masks' do, ..

besides increasing C02 breathing at a level that would make OSHA shut down any actual company as being Wildly dangerous to health ..

is afford the user myriad chances to mishandle them and then, in less than 1 minute, rub samples of its accumulated muck straight into their nose and eyeballs.
