The stability itself? It contributed to it or at least enabled it. There's a tendency of youth to rebel, and in a propserous country they were able to rebel with little risk. Couple that with marxist infiltration and there you go.

Basically this is what leads to the issues you speak of and the way things are now.
I'm aware of this civilizational cycle but it usually takes a bit longer than a period of 10 to 15 years.
As with technology, information sharing speeds all cycles. Instant news and social media are the bane of traditionalism. (but it does allow us to have this conversation)
