What is the saying, “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”
Basically this is what leads to the issues you speak of and the way things are now.
I'm aware of this civilizational cycle but it usually takes a bit longer than a period of 10 to 15 years.
As with technology, information sharing speeds all cycles. Instant news and social media are the bane of traditionalism. (but it does allow us to have this conversation)
