I teach acting. I used to direct. The secret to acting is not believing in yourself but believing you can change someone else's belief of who you are. The secret to that is a lot harder but is what you are essentially saying. If you read psychology you realise the best actors are born that way and they ARE being themselves, they also develop personality issues throughout their lives. Making millions on your fragmented mind instead of healing and becoming a normal human being is praised by normies. Acting is a praised trait in society. Look at Ted Cruz, he is praised for his acting and people even give him their money for pretending to be a conservative.

I didn't say "believe in yourself" I said commit to the moment and believe what you're saying. Without going too far into this, I have a fairly extensive background in this subject as well. I really enjoyed with David Mamet said in "True and False.." about acting and acting instruction. If you haven't read it, I recommend it.

It's easy (and tempting) to overcomplicate, especially when one's livelihood is built around the concept of "learning to act" being a long and arduous journey. No offense personally, but I believe acting teachers are mostly charlatans and far too many are downright contemptible scoundrels that prey on young people with emotional vulnerabilities.

Having said that I know a very very few acting teachers that are honest and decent people. Very few.

woah woah woah, I don't teach acting in the normal way... I don't make a living doing that shit. It is actually highly contemptible. I more or less teach people to detect lies.
