The VP doesn't have the power to do this unilaterally according to the EC Act of 1887. It has to go to a vote in both Houses and pass with a majority to discount any electors.

He should have rejected the illegitimate (non-constitutional) electors, and upheld the oath of his office by only recognizing the constitutionally viable electors sent by the state legislators, which would have given Trump a 31-19 victory of the 50 votes. All three branches of government screwed our country. They can go to the Devil.
