US Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators are made in Toledo. The Grand Cherokee is made in Detroit. The Cherokee is made in Belvidere Ill. The Compass is made in Mexico. And the Renegade is made in Italy.
Jeep makes Jeeps for China, in China. Chinese Jeeps don't come to America.... yet. Buck, however, makes Buicks in China that are shipped to the US.
China requires foreign auto manufacturers to make cars in China, if they want to sell cars in China.
Multiple countries, now. They have the big plant in the Bay Area, but they have components being made in the Netherlands and China. Two new massive factories are being built in Germany and Texas.
I'm not sure. I think they are assembled in america. Used to be a plant in cali right? Ok musky is packing up and taking his toys to Texas last I heard.
The Fremont plant isn't closing, that I've heard. He's building a gigafactory in Texas for eastern car shipments. He was threatening to move the HQ there and shut down Fremont when they forced him to shut down for Covid, but he reopened since then, and I haven't heard any more talk of shutting Fremont down.
I have always bought new, but this will be my new ethos going forward. I have been wanting a diesel JLU Rubi for a while now, and I was actually going to go get one at the beginning of this year until I saw Jeep cuck out. I have been debating between waiting for the Bronco and this, but I think I have decided to buy a slightly used JLU locally, private party if possible.
The recent Cherokees all look like shit. You know why? Because they redid the aesthetics to appeal to the Chinese market, and they love gaudy, ugly vehicles.
afaik, jeep is made in china
IIRC the last series that was made in the US was up to the mid 90’s; with square headlights.
Meanwhile the Japanese company Toyota is making trucks in the US, while Ford is collapsing and outsourcing to Mexico
Most Ford Trucks are made here. Actually, every single one for the American market is made here. Includes Ranger to F 750 trucks.
*Assembled here

It almost seems like a distinction between made in america and assembled in america should be made.
Buck? Is that the chinese knock-off version of Buick?
I drove a '78 Jeep CJ7 in college.
Chick magnet.
99 xj owner here. Never buying anything older than a 2001.
Edit: not buying anything NEWER.
newer.
Correct. Brain fart. Thanks!
My '86 was made in Canada
Fiat Christler. They are made in mexico.
where's Tesla made?

Pretty sure American owned Tesla’s are American made.
IIRC I believe Musk said Asian plant sells to Asia.

and owned by China and Italy. Jeep is no longer an American thing.
The Cherokee actually ranks among the most American-made vehicles.
i think it's ranger
but here's the deal
buying used is the most american you can do. that keeps the money "most local."

Unfortunately I bought my Wrangler 6 months before they cucked out. I love it but it’ll be the last.
yeah but it's pretty racist... be less red

Wranglers are built in Toledo, Ohio, the Grand Cherokee is built in Detroit. The Compass and Patriot are built in Illinois.
Thank God...someone who knows something. My 98 zj is running strong.....wont buy a new one.
Well good to hear that I'm wrong about jeep being made in mexico.
To be fair, they're made all over the world and shipped to the US to be assembled. It's not really better in the grand scheme.
Jeep is the least American care you can buy, AND they support these commies. Joke all round.
