That's always my question. What are the results of of the studies done on mask wearing effectiveness on a societal level? If they work, to what degree do they work?
Look at the Johns Hopkins study done last year. No difference in rate of infection for wearers or nonwearers.
As for society, simply compare the deaths per million and rate of infection of states with strict mask rules (NY, NJ, MI, ND, CA) to states with less enforcement and compliance (SD, FL, WV, ID).
