Why do I get the feeling that they are staging this obvious FAKE "knowledge of an attack" to get other shenanigans under way while DC is emptied of weary people?

All pedes (incl. military and police) in DC, keep your eyes out and document ANYTHING that seems odd or out of the ordinary.

Remember, on 9/11 a LOT of regular persons were murdered so certain corporations could start their "War on Terror(sic)".
