I think about 5-7 Trillion dollars worth over the last decade and a half.
All the debt could be paid easily, but we got International Griifters in charge so that debt will always being going up till collapse.
To put in perspective Nuclear Reactors(with just the SMR-type) could offset the energy costs by 8 times, and all the cascading avenues of production that would follow would multiply that as welll.
That means squat though so long as those in charge drain more than we can make.
Take Bamboo, Kudzu, and the Hop-hornbeam Tree(Ironwood), and that practically cuts huge costs over large portions of industries(There is Hemp, but the more I learn about Kudzu the more I see it not as good in some areas[growth rate for one]). This leads almost into Trillion dollar digits in a decade span of time.
Then comes some other things like Ultra Deep core mining(Mantle mining to make it short) would produce metals by the ton per second with how concentrated it is that deep. To add to this Space Colonization and Utilization(Mining, manufacturing, etc) is an ever expanding market for Thousands of years just this solar system alone. Head to others then it literally could take millions if not billions of years to expand before even reaching the edge of the galaxy in full.
In essence, We are being held back by $20 Trillion-$25 Trillion every year in total.

Less than it used to be. They've been trying to offload US debt, but currency pegging needs sort of limit what they can or can't do.
