The House just passed the George Floyd Justice In Policing Act. It still has to pass the senate. They need 10 Republicans to sign on. Make sure none of them do!
It bans no-knock warrants and police chokeholds, ends qualified immunity, and establishes new standards for policing and transparency. Police didn't have a say in the matter. They never do. Even when they said defunding wasn't going to work, no one listened. Crime went up. Here we are. Again. No one listening.
Ending no knock warrants is a good thing. They should have ended secret/sealed indictments too.
Qualified immunity is abused by a lot of cops and lets them get around being pieces of shit. If qualified immunity is removed from cops though, it should be removed from politicians as well.
Standards and transparency isn't a bad thing.
