There is so much pain in this article.

17-year-old must start over. He’s been moved back to ninth grade.

This is a failure of the institution.

She has three children and works three jobs.

This is a failure of society. I don’t think anyone should have to work three jobs.

Her son's records show in his first three years at Augusta Fells, he failed 22 classes and was late or absent 272 days

This is a failure of the kid. He seems utterly lost.

He's a good kid. He didn't deserve that. Where's the mentors? Where is the help for him?

This is a failure of the mom. SHE is supposed to be a mentor. A FATHER is supposed to be a mentor as well. This won’t get any better without accountability and strong nuclear families. This shit is just sad.
