When I was a freshman in high school (2003) I was in an elective class called “General Music”. It was taught by the Band Director. I was on the football team, and there was an ongoing beef between the football team and the band. He (the Band Director) would always try to recruit people from the class to join the Band. He knew I was on the football team, but one day he pitched me the idea of quitting football and joining the band (to be a smart ass I’m sure because he knew I wouldn’t)... I looked him dead in the eyes and said “Hell no I’m not a little flute-blowing faggot like you” (he regularly played the flute in class)... He just laughed and made some equally gay comment about football players wearing tight pants, and that was it. I said it out loud in front of the entire class. Nothing happened.
CAN YOU FUCKING IMAGINE a kid saying that now? That one comment would ruin their entire life. I’m so glad social media didn’t exist back then. I’d be fucked if some of the shit I said resurfaced today.
