Nah, former Dutchie and current Belge here; Wilders is a political hack. He is a Milo-style provocateur who revels attention, and loves being opposition government. His political manifesto fits on the back of a post-it note because its basically just 2 things: Ban Quran, No Immigration. Which is like 1/10th of a worthwhile political platform. Forget single issue voters, Wilders runs a single issue party, and it should be a surprise to noone that the equally right wing but far more refined Forum Voor Democracy is quickly draining his voterbase, or that merely paying lipservice to Geerts political points BTFO's the PVV into high orbit by costing them 7 seats overnight because the only reason the PVV is getting support is because people were convinced its either the PVV or its learning to live with the problem.
It should also be noted that the Turkish population in the NL didn't come here due to mass immigration, but due to literal decades of standard immigration; most of them are 3rd generation immigrants at this point, it has once again been the dumb practice of allowing them to group and set up de facto colonies in large cities that has been causing issues. Turks are pretty swell lads if their youth isn't concentrated enough to create ingroups.
Regulated immigration isn't a bad thing. Mass immigration and unregulated immigration is what is bad. Governments should hardcap how many people can immigrate to a certain geographic area, but nah, thats too much work.
The issue arises when due to incompetent government management they are allowed to set up what are in all essentiality colonies without state sponsorship. Once it becomes viable to go an entire day in public life without speaking the nations tongue, as we have here with some of the colonies in Rotterdam, Brussels, Antwerp and Amsterdam (mixing Maroccans with Turkish people here but disregard that), that is when the issue arrives.

Yes. Basically my argument is "multiculturalism is good" followed by a few dozen asterisks outlining the large number of requirements to assure good integration, assure a lack of ethnic strive, assure an absence of perverse incentives etc.
Basically the opposite of where we have now where integration is paid lipservice every election cycle ignoring the fact that many immigrant populations have created integration-free environments where it is pretty much unnecessary, where massive ethnic communities form, where there is a clear monetary incentive for people to come here and there isn't the basic motivator of loving/respecting a country to the point of wanting to live there.
Most western immigration systems are utterly broken, however, simply stopping it altogether isn't a viable solution either. Though yeah we do basically need a near total dial down of it for at least a generation to make up for the 2 generations of frogboiling the native sentiment towards immigration numbers.
