If your kid is in-person learning or involved in a sport you are required to quarantine. Just don't bother telling the school or coach you went to Florida? Hard to hide that tan and I don't want to get in the habit of lying and it just creates problems for the kids. Lose two weeks of games, two weeks of learning, or just put my self-interests on hold. It's a difficult and annoying decision to make for something that is blown way out of proportion and punishing healthy people.

As long as everyone adheres to these "rules" nothing will change. Take a stand.

Yeah, this is where the father in me kicks in, in just makes the kids uncomfortable and you don't realize the power teachers have over them. If the teacher doesn't make you feel comfortable and you are officially breaking the rules, the kids and parents do the same. The sports programs don't want to have their program shut down so they do the same. Taking the stand I agree with it but unless this is a collective movement, in blue states you are punished.

But yes I do agree with you.

Then get a group together and do what needs to be done--About 40 yrs ago when my children were in grade school, a group of PTA moms (about 6 of us) were able to get 2 teachers (one who drank her lunch, the other was a tyrant) and the school principal removed. Wasn't easy--School board was checking on who we were and how to make us less a threat. This was in a pretty good sized city. Kids were aware of it and survived. Our children (Thank God) are all good parents who have made us proud.
