yet again, why the fuck are social platforms allowed to have "terms of service" when they are marketed as "open discussion platforms for all"?

They never mention in advertising that there are restrictions on what you can and cannot post on their service yet they seem to be allowed carte blanche to ban what they want and say "wE hAvE a pOLiCy" ... This asinine "their company their rules" mentality NEEDS to go. Stop thinking this.

HeavyVetting 135 points ago +136 / -1

Should be based on following actual laws and nothing else. Enforcing arbitrary policies about what people can or can't say should automatically make them a publisher responsible for all content.

War_Hamster 75 points ago +75 / -0

A few weeks back, Project Veritas released a clip of some Facebook VP talking about how they were forced to come up with rules on the fly to address free speech issues because the government hadn't given them proper guidelines.

My immediate reaction was that we most certainly do have those proper guidelines.

IT'S CALLED THE 1ST FREAKIN AMENDMENT YOU CLOWN!!!!!

34
NPC11011110000 34 points ago +34 / -0

Why the hell do they need government guidelines on speech? This alone proves that it's a 1st amendment issue because these platforms are acting on the behalf of the government to limit free speech.

That means the government hasn't explicitly told them how to censor conservatives, so they have to make it up themselves. Poor guys. Vote Biden.

You would think. But, since when do the prog/lib/lefties give a righteous damn about laws and the Constitution?

62
jshelton5 62 points ago +63 / -1

the TOS should be simple.

No kiddie porn, no violence.

Everything else is wide open.

49
quell2 49 points ago +49 / -0

no violence

Too vague. We live in an era where "speech is violence," so they'd still probably remove Trump's speech by claiming it's "inciting violence." Better verbiage would be something like "no graphic depictions of violence" or, better, "no depictions or actions involving gore."

29
bidensmissingbrain 29 points ago +29 / -0

Or how about just remove the "no violence" policy altogether and let people decide on their own if they want to watch shit like that or not.

You can then turn on a "family" filter or setting which would auto-mask sex/violence/gore/profanity/etc.

7
War_Hamster 7 points ago +7 / -0

How about we just follow the 1st Amendment?

2
HeavyMetalPatriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly. SCOTUS has numerous rulings involving the 1A that are MORE than enough for any TOS...but we all know this nonsense has everything to do with SJW/CCP societal control and nothing to do with the 1A.

2

It can be even simpler then that.

8
HiddenDekuScrub 8 points ago +8 / -0

There was a time when terms of service were basically just a bunch of legalese to prevent the host from being sued for some silly thing a person posted or did.

Clearly not the case anymore though.

WHY THE HELL IS RSBN STILL USING YOUTUBE? ARE THEY RETARDED? WHAT PART OF WE WILL FOLLOW YOU TO A NEW PLATFORM DOES RSBN NOT UNDERSTAND

72
sc00b3 72 points ago +74 / -2

Probably because their live broadcast functionality is what they understand. If you’re not technically adept or don’t have the budget to stream the right way, it’s hard to switch away!.

@RSBN, I’ll help you for free!

42
posedgeclk 42 points ago +42 / -0

Throw a five gallon jug of gasoline on a fire, and see what happens. It's cause and effect.

The girlfriend with the black eye keeps coming back to the drunken, aggressive animal and expects something to change. Or is just complacent with the abuse. Ohhhh, it'll be fine....THWACK!!!

And the normies still want their YouTube salt lick and will downvote me into oblivion over such comments. I will continue to harp on it. If you post a direct twit, fb, or youtube link and make no effort to copy/proxy it, you are a moron.

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +8 / -0

2

8
leDonaldAlwaysWins 8 points ago +8 / -0

yea, good point. but i mean, i've been watching their broadcasts for a while, its not like they are not without glitches lol. like rumble is conservative right? why aren't they putting up a video doing a live broadcast, and mentioning a new platform. youtube is dead to conservatives.

8
Millipede1776 8 points ago +8 / -0

Rumble currently does not support live broadcasts. They should broadcast live on YouTube (for now) and post the whole video to rumble afterwards. So that it at least stays up.

6
leDonaldAlwaysWins 6 points ago +6 / -0

i mean honestly, i think they should find a new place to stream, spend a couple bucks and stream from their websites. it's painful to watch them tripping over themselves to put out youtube's mandatory disclaimers "officiallly biden won the election legitimately." pathetic

7
War_Hamster 7 points ago +7 / -0

What sucks is that RSBN did put out those disclaimers and they still got suspended.

I little birdie did tell me that RSBN is working to address this.

hmm disagree with you on that. businesses should have the right to kick off anyone for any reason. now where i draw the line with that is if they aren't really a private business as in, they get many gov contracts and special protections like google/youtube. so, not sure i'd support fines for censorship, but i'd definitely support removing any gov support to these companies. if they accept our tax money, then yes, we should have a say in their decisions regarding censorship

4
AuPhalanx 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is why we lost -- and will continue to lose.

0
leDonaldAlwaysWins 0 points ago +2 / -2

well the thing is, what happens when the other side is in power at the state level? the problem with saying gov has the right to censor businesses is in essence the same problem of businesses censoring citizens. Giving the authority to gov to be the arbiter of truth imo, is even worse than these companies.

5
AuPhalanx 5 points ago +5 / -0

We have rampant censorship now. That's neither here nor there, though. The point is fair and equal access under the law. If one must "bake the cake," then others must allow fair and equal use of a platform.

Your reasoning and your unflinching belief in businesses' prerogative is why we lost and will continue to lose until it's all vanquished. We already have our own platforms and ecosystems; how long until they come for them? or until they are denied service by their banks or ISPs?

We're not asking for the government to be an arbiter of truth. We're not asking for anything other than fair treatment under laws that already exist yet are somehow denied us.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
2
randomusers239874 2 points ago +2 / -0

Cox is a pipe though. Web sites are different. ISPs are like roads, whereas websites are like buildings. Private property rights are what gives websites the ability to ban users. A better analogy is, do you think you should be able to walk into a building and yell anything you want, without them being able to ask you to leave? My answer to that is no. A better way forward is to prevent payment processors from deplatforming alt tech. Unlike most companies, payment companies get a lot of taxpayer funded benefits (like FDIC insurance), so there is philosophical justification for them being treated differently.

How can you make a statement like YouTube is dead to conservatives when 4 millions watched Trump address in YouTube?

6
leDonaldAlwaysWins 6 points ago +7 / -1

are you joking right now? do you not understand that if you try to host a video or stream on youtube and say something against youtube's political minders, you will get suspended and removed from youtube? its dead in the sense, conservatives can't make videos on youtube that are conservative. sure you can watch videos on youtube, but you're being a bit dense aren't you? this topic is literally about youtube removing a conservative video lol

5
War_Hamster 5 points ago +5 / -0

There are still plenty of Conservative content creators on YouTube who have managed to not trigger the AI, but you do make a valid point.

Until Rumble or Gab comes up with a stable streaming platform and grows in numbers, posting to YouTube is still an effective way to reach people.

I'd love to boycott all of them as well, but it's more important to use every platform possible to get our message out. That may change soon, but we're not there yet.

1
Klown_Schwab 1 point ago +1 / -0

9
zerk0021 9 points ago +9 / -0

RSBN should upload to multiple platforms.

3
leDonaldAlwaysWins 3 points ago +4 / -1

good thinking actually. it's interesting to see even in tech, i'm seeing a parallel to the vertical centralization of power that i'm seeing in politics: cloud services and data is matches authoritarian political systems in structure. decentralization matches democratic systems. so yea, RSBN should upload and stream on rumble, vimeo, THEIR OWN WEBSITE, to avoid this. Start accepting crypto payments RSBN. IT'S TIME FOR CONSERVATIVES TO START FIGHTING AND BEING SMART ABOUT IT. THE TIME FOR TRADITIONAL BANKS AND LEGACY MEDIA IS OVER. WAKE UP

6

2
leDonaldAlwaysWins 2 points ago +4 / -2

I think this is folly. You don't fight battles you cannot win. Wars are not won by losing every battle. There is no scenario where conservative media personalities will win against youtube. NONE. The way to win this war, is to create our own ecosystem.

Called it - RSBN started literally right after Trump announced in 2015, so almost a year before Iowa. I don’t know what the deal is with the Lindell mic cut, but I’m confident saying it’s not for a lack of support. They’ve done everything in their power to support this movement, incl. broadcasting every single fraud hearing in the face of the censorship. If you can’t see what they’ve done for the movement, particularly since last year, you really haven’t been paying attention.

You can hurr durr about telling the Jews to fuck off, as if that’ll stop them from banning you, but this is the real world. They have power over us until we nut up and escalate in the real world or at least start our own services.

1
zekin 1 point ago +1 / -0

That sounds shitty but haven't they already vetted this guy? I thought rsbn was some dude who just started recording trumps rallys starting in like 2016 or some shit. Odyssey/LBRY is the only viable long term option. It is the only one that is decentralized and cannot be censored. Fuck Vimeo, Fuck Rumble, Fuck Dlive, Fuck bitchute. Unless their are decentralized, the problem will still exist and the censors will pressure them to censor. The solution MUST be decentralized, this is how bittorrent has survived for so long. It is not a fucking option anymore it is #1 priority.

These fuckers will target the remaining data centers not under their control. The future MUST be decentralized to defeat them. It's the hard and long path to take but the only sure fire one.

Alex Jones was a trial run. Then everything followed: Mr. Potato Head, Dr. Suess, Amen, “wrong think” on YouTube, etc.

Only way it stops is with a parallel economy. People have to stop using their tyrannical services.

16
HiddenDekuScrub 16 points ago +17 / -1

I think a parallel economy is a given at this point, rather than a "good idea". It'll happen if for no other reason than there being untapped markets. And when there are untapped markets, people will go there looking for money.

I know here in New Mexico we've got a food POS/delivery startup that simultaneously acts as a local equivalent to both Square and Doordash. (They're called Selflane) I don't know if they're "based" or not, but I started seeing their name around various local restaurants a few years ago, and now they're seemingly everywhere here. I get the strangest feeling they're keeping a lot of the smaller local restaurants afloat.

3

They banned Stefan Molyneux without ever even giving a reason. I watched all of his videos and nothing every violated the rules. But they did it anyway, no appeals, and it was permanent. Youtube and Twitter.
(It was Molyneux who got me on the Trump train in the first place. Because he was on Youtube, where I found him.)

7
randomusers239874 7 points ago +7 / -0

He called out the long nosed tribe at some point. Not even directly, just mentioned that critics of theirs might not be completely wrong.

1
PDXTrumpSupporter 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not really. He has been extremely passive on that topic. One could make a stronger case to say he's LESS on-board with that topic than he is on-board. Tons of people call him a shill because he refuses to spend time talking about that territory.
To be fair, though, he maybe doesn't touch it because he knows it's the true 'third rail', and he's just being tactical.

3
julianleroux 3 points ago +3 / -0

A parallel economy that involves simple living, healthy food, tons of family-time, and locally-made products. The majority of our monthly expenses are actually bad for us.

1
0xTC 1 point ago +1 / -0

They stop a parallel economy with all their power. If you are a small, up-coming company, they either buy you out, bury you in lawsuits, or deplatform you. THIS is where Government is supposed to do their damn job: regulate. But they are bought and paid for.

In order for this to work, you need a mega-player to jump into the ring. Someone who can't be bought or intimidated. People don't realize, but Trump CAN do this. He can build the Trump media empire. Elon Musk as well. But you need this factor to build a parallel economy.

11

You know what? The only way for the media to start reporting on the massive amount of fraud at all is if a state went to Trump that should have went to Biden. We should find a way to feed this narrative into the media and say that Trump won Ohio due to voter fraud. Then we can come out months from now saying that all the information was made up by us.

10

Big tech is systematically deplatforming those who give a platform for President Trump, the rightful GEOTUS

NeverBeFat 4 points ago +4 / -0

If what President Trump said had been misinformation, it would be easy to refute. They made no effort to refute it, they shut him up.

If you prevent someone from speaking, it's because you fear what they have to say.

Gab and odysee should have live streaming soon

dev01 1 point ago +2 / -1

Gab is still mostly centralized. It relies on epik, as does this site.

RememberKosciuszko 1 point ago +1 / -0

I thought gab has it's own physical servers etc? Hm

2
dev01 2 points ago +2 / -0

on dedicated servers does not mean decentralized.

Zero political talk should be allowed on social media if that's the case, because as we all know politicians lie all the time.

Funny how people still think they have a country. Also lol the irony.

How many "Russian Collussion" stories did they not remove? Pointing out double standards is pointless, when Republicans are like cucks just bowing to the left wing media and taking it up rectum hard.

At least RSBN did not cuck, that I respect.

GabTV. That’s the real home of RSBN.

This won’t reach normals. We see it but your average person will not know this is happening

RealRightSideOfHist 3 points ago +3 / -0

They ought to sue for not equally enforcing their terms of service. As the CBS and other network news videos of his speech remain up.

3
MAGAlorian 3 points ago +3 / -0

They actually did it. They suspended them for just reporting the news.

3
noonthirty 3 points ago +3 / -0

If they were winning, the propaganda would not be necessary.

Ez_mac 3 points ago +3 / -0

1984 is here. It’s imperative we don’t become complacent, otherwise our children and their children’s children will not know the definition of free

3
invalid_data 3 points ago +3 / -0

RSBN better not bow down because of these evil fascist bullies.

QLARP 1 point ago +1 / -0

3
MythArcana 3 points ago +3 / -0

Bitchute or Rumble, and keep going.

I'm wondering if I can't steal / rip a ton of vids off YouTube then upload them to the other sites.

Then I realized it would just fuck them up with DCMA headaches. The core problem is there needs to be a planned mirror, then a migration to the other sites.

So, let's say you did YouTube since their inception. You give it about 6 - 12 months more and then stop uploading content to YouTube and continue with Rumble or Bitchute, along with a pinned farewell video on YouTube.

That's how this needs to go.

Keep_on_winning_kag 3 points ago +3 / -0

Maybe we should start saying that Russia rigged the previous election against trump and see if they agree, deny or say that would never happen.

alucard13mmfmj 3 points ago +3 / -0

When will we have protests organized by someone with some name recognition at these fine places? Not some headless chicken gathering, but a meeting with a direction and leader?

3
FreddyFingers 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's time for youtube to be stopped.

3
The5thEstate 3 points ago +3 / -0

Just did a quick YouTube search for Trump's CPAC 2021 speech - the usual suspects still have the full speech up (Sky News, MSDNC). That's targeted/selective enforcement, but what else is new?

3
maga_gal 3 points ago +3 / -0

Literal social facism. I hate uttering that word, but it's true.

3
mlp67 3 points ago +3 / -0

Truth hurts their brand.

3
Seruna_Kanus 3 points ago +3 / -0

If no one in the media is allowed to talk about something, then you know it's truth.
