The local grocery store is really anal about the masks (thankfully no anal swabs yet though). I don't wear one anymore, I stopped about a month ago. I simply won't do it anymore. The guy at the front was basically screaming at me that I needed a mask as I walked past him and into the store to buy the one item I needed. I shouted at me that I needed a mask for a good 50 ft. into the store.
Once I walked through the entire store to get my coffee creamer, everyone at the front checkout is turned around looking at me, I think they were talking about me over the walkie talkies and people heard. I get to self checkout and I hear a woman saying "Excuse me sir". I initally ignore her but the checkout is not scanning my item (I realized she turned it off remotely when she saw which one I picked). She's basically waving a mask in my face demanding I put it on, and I refused and asked her why. She said "Its store policy" and "because of everything thats going on".
I tell her I already walked through the store so making me wear a mask isn't stopping anything from happening. And that I have a medical exemption, which she tells me "no you don't" and that their store policy supercedes medical exemptions(for the record I don't have an exemption). So she refuses to let me ring out so I basically just leave then. Tell you guys what, I'm not going back to that store ever again. Fuck that.
Are you a doctor or a lawyer? lol. Does it matter that I actually don't have an exemption though?
Store policy doesn't supersede medical exemptions. The ADA would be on them like white on rice if they tried to tell someone they couldn't use a cane or a guide dog in there. Also, a quick visit to a new doctor to get an asthma checkup so you can renew your albuterol inhaler script will quickly solve that issue. I mean, it kept Biden out of the draft. It'll keep you out of a mask. ;)
