My local Shell gas station went up nearly 30 cents overnight the other day, and they're usually the cheapest in my town.

NJ pede here, gas has shot up 70 cents since the Installation. And I saw a few gas stations in central Jersey a few weeks ago that were already posting $3.80 for regular. Granted they’re outliers for sure, but it’s just crazy that people didn’t see this coming.

Sacrifices must be made in order to get America to accept commun-- I mean, "green energy".

Hmmm, on my local news last night AAA said it was because demand is greater than it has been for a year, summer version of gasoline, and those storms in TX. This makes far more sense.

Gas prices usually have little to do with the president. My buddy works 3rd party for CAT and has been selling barrels like a mad man because of covid. Companies also stocked up right before the election. So much so that he was making almost 10k in commission weekly. Better watch that 401k tho.

How many barrels are being sold and what for? My company bought like 500,000 gallons of diesel last spring to put in the hole for later. I know this year the companies that didnt do this are buying a lot at the current price.

I am not sure on the exact numbers but when Covid first started he was selling a lot to nursing tents, vaccine stations, etc. for their generators across the state (Illinois). He cant stand the Covid bullshit but he can retire a good five years early just from his earnings this last year alone. Also, the pipelines now being at risk are pushing the companies that waited to start paying out the ass.

And yet all the international energy companies LOVE “hostile” administrations because higher gas prices = higher profits = higher dividends.

It’s why I had my money guy (who agreed with me) expand my position in international energy after the election.
