If you wonder how fascism takes over a country, this is how. Immense propaganda floods all the TVs, opposition groups are silenced and the regular population welcomes the new changes. When the regular population sees what is going on, it is far too late to do anything.

The normies still don't realize we've been taken over by communists. They think Trump lost and have gone back to their blissful lives.

Yup. I've noticed some waking up to the small signs of it. Biden bombing syria again. The stimulus money taking forever to get. Now they know if we had trump there would be no bombing and we would have had the stimulus money by now.....

We transitioned to communism in 2001. That’s why Trump winning in 2016 was such a problem.

At least we know it now. It will be hard to wake up the normies though.

I always wonder if 'fascist' is the right word. Leftists cal MAGA people fascist. Hell, so many people call anything they disagree with 'fascist'. Fascism was a particular thing at a particular time in a particular situation. I feel like what's happening today is something new. I'll admit, I don't know what to call it.

I would agree and say that our current form of government is close to something similar to what Russia has. Putin describes it as "managed democracy". Essentially you have elections and political parties but it is all fake to give you the illusion that your voice/vote counts. It doesn't. The reality is that both parties are essentially controlled by the controlling group of people.

The state exists purely to sustain itself rather than to actually help the population. The government acts like a parasite where it sucks a certain percentage of the GDP of the economy for its own special interest pet projects. Meanwhile everyone who is outside of the government/controlling party is effectively left to fend for themselves. Basic welfare programs are established as a way to indirectly control what is viewed as the most volatile group - the poor. They are given a small pittance which is used to make sure they don't start a violent revolution. The middle class people are mostly not a concern since their standard of living is decent compared to the poor class and these people never rise up simply because they have too much to lose.

Violent authoritarianism is mostly absent as use of such force would possibly create a destabilized nation. The vast majority of the population is pacified through propaganda, entertainment and other pointless activities. The media is highly controlled and fake controversies are purposefully designed as a way to distract the population. The important stuff that people should be focused on never comes to light of day. It is all hidden away, veiled in secrecy.
