Hey buddy! you're gonna be ok. I'm a Junior and there are a few tips I can give you.

  1. Expect to be teased freshman year, I don't know why but it's like a right of passage to tease freshman. Don't take anything too personal and don't be afraid to joke with them too.

  2. Don't try to impress the older kids. Being a junior, I am constantly having interactions with the freshies where they try to act really "cool" or try to impress us. Remember that its ton impressing to try to impress. People will think you are a lot more mature and be more inclined to be your friend if you just act like yourself. Cliche, I know, but it seems that too many kids forget this and it causes them to be friends with either people who are toxic or are so socially awkward that they never interact with anyone.

  3. Take a class you enjoy. I'm not gonna lie high school is a living hell, so to combat this take an elective class you enjoy. you can think of it as a brain-break or a moment of peace during the day. Mine is Choir and I love it, we are like a family and never judge one another if we mess up, it's cool.

If you have any specific questions about anything feel free to ask me!
