Wow! Do trains do this all the time? Why is it just running? I don't know much about the topic but I am very curious to know.

The first tanker train sat in that spot the day biden took over for a complete month! I've never seen a train sit idle for that long. Some freight trains do occasionally but only a day or 2 at most.

This is something some adventurous keyboard warrior could track down using publicly available information. Wish I had the time, because I'd love to know the cause.

Particular conditions will call for the engines to be idled. Sometimes they need to run when temps are below a certain point to prevent engine freezing. There's also the issue of keeping the air brakes active. However, just parking a consist for this length of time is surprising. Don't know the details for why but it sure seems like it's just stuck with nowhere to go yet.
