Honestly a peaceful divorce and restructuring is needed, period. The financial burden of the US has passed the critically unstable point. The new nation would need to be free of these burdens and keep a tight fiscal balanced budget. If parts of the us can break off bits at a time we can peacefully manage the decline of the US and the dollar.
