It's about LOGISTICS. No one single state can be self sustaining. They need what other states have. The issue you run into is how do you get them what they need when they're surrounded by blue states or you have to run shit through a blue state so the red gets it? That's the problem.
Also, the other problem is even though Texas can SECEDE legally, NO OTHER STATE CAN and they tried, you know that Biden would invoke the Insurrection Act against the state and send the Regular Army there to occupy it on top of NG from blue states slavering to get their licks in too.
How do you defend against that? How do you defend Western Idaho's borders when you have Colorado and New Mexico in the way for Texas to provide troops and manpower? How do you get power from Idaho to Arizona?
