When the Robert E. Lee statue was horribly vandalized here in Richmond, advocates claimed that the graffiti help to paint a more accurate picture and reflected a wider narrative than what was initially intended. They believed that the vandalism was an improvement on the piece.
They really truly believed and hoped and pushed hard that she would be some sort of Jesus figure for the climate change movement. Instead, we all know she's a stupid teenage puppet for her parents and the face of German hubris.
