I despise this asshole. What nobody knows, though, is that he had an infatuation with fascism before he became Joe Stalin's BFF. He invited Mussolini to the US several times to give speeches about the new ideology at leftist think tanks. FDR thought that fascism was the leftist wave of the future and was trying to figure out how to impose it on the states. His ardor cooled when Hitler came to power and upstaged Roosevelt's grand designs with more ferocious ones of his own.
