If you're 6 ft. tall, weigh 135lbs. And you look in the mirror and think you are fat.. and then refuse to eat, we would say you have a problem.

If I went to a doctor and said "I should be living my life as a 1 armed man. I want you to remove my right arm". Society would say you have a problem.

If a parent told a child "YOu get to pick what you eat, when you go to bed, what you do." Society would call you a bad parent.

If a parent let their child smoke, drink, or get tattoos, we would say that is abuse.
