After reading that my 65 year old mother (who had no interests in guns and had never fired one) asked if I would take her to shoot my AR-15. So she did. She liked it. She made fun of him more afterwards.
The thundering shots emanating from my hands was like the Vietnam War, terrifying in its raw power. The force of the blast threw my body five hundred feet backwards. Truly these guns are weapons of mass destruction.
"I've shot pistols before, but never something like an AR-15. Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection)," the journalist wrote.
"The recoil bruised my shoulder. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick," he added.
This is the guy you're talking about haha. No, they aren't the same people, but soo hilarious. I'm glad you reminded me of this masterpiece!
If the casing flew past his face...then, yes, he was.

I made the mistake of letting my 10 year old daughter shoot my AR instead of the 10/22 she had been shooting.
Now she is costing me a fortune in ammo because she has no interest in the 10/22 anymore.
This is the way...
He should be used to stuff flying at his face.
