Nice. Means this is his final term. You suck ass, Kentucky, for voting for a libtard dem for governor. I want McConnell out. I could care less if a dem replaces him or not. McConnell has shown to us to be just like a dem

At least McConnell is a no-vote on breaking the filibuster

AmericanJawa 2 points ago +2 / -0

Don't assume he won't flip on that.

I could see him either doing a last-minute turn around as either terms for his wife not being prosecuted, or else as an opportunity to stick it to everyone on his way out.

Populist_Leader 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's possible, but as of now he hasn't done it and I would be more inclined to think a Republican in office would refuse to break it if Mitch doesn't do it on his way out

The tyrant governor was elected due to Dominion and four years of propaganda media smearing Matt Bevin over EVERYTHING. At one point he criticized schools for closing because it was too cold (he was right) and the media wouldn't shut up about it for a week. That's how bad it was.

Additionally, Bevin's team ran one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen. All he talked about was abortion when he did a ton of good stuff, including getting Constitutional Carry into law and making KY a right-to-work state. He never mentioned any of those things. It was "I don't like abortion" and "I adopted a lot of kids."

Despite all of that, he "lost" by a very slim margin. We know there were shenanigans in the counting in the Louisville area. Herr Beshear wasn't even popular in his own primaries. However, the GOP just rolled over and played dead as they usually do.

Worse is that the current assembly has punted on impeaching the tyrant despite the fact that I count at least seven impeachable offenses in the last year and that's not just all over CCP Virus actions.

Side note: Bevin gave McConnell a strong primary run prior to his running for governor. Considering what we know about Dominion, it's likely that's the reason Bevin failed there. If we're looking for a replacement for McConnell, Bevin might not be such a bad choice. He just needs a better campaign team.

Beshear was elected off of a combination of his dad's name and how bad Bevin spoke. When you call a vast majority of the voter base thugs and criminals your not going to get many votes. Trump may be bombastic but Bevin was a straight A-hole. With practically my whole family working for the state in some form and barely getting by, trying to cut into their retirement all while demonizing them made a lot of ballots blue.

Bevin spent four years trying to FIX the pension system and was fought all along the way by special interest groups. Beshear ran around lying that he was going to destroy their pensions and the media was all but happy to parrot those lies.

Because the teacher's pension was completely unsustainable, they screeched the loudest because any pension reform HAD to fix that situation. That's what really killed Bevin.

He wasn't an asshole. He was just honest. I remember him giving an interview where they asked about hot browns and he just flat out said he didn't like it and thought it was a little gross. Unlike politicians who would lie about something like that, claiming, "I love hot browns, basketball, Ale-8, horse racing, bourbon, oh, and I'm going to paint my lawn blue." However, I've learned over time that honesty is often confused with being an "asshole."

Sounds like your family were mad at the wrong people. Now that Herr Beshear is raiding the state treasury to enforce his illegal shutdowns, how do they think that's going to help their pensions?

It's really too bad for him that he's the soft shelled variety. Guess he better stay inside and not enjoy the beaches.

I guess when he cucked out in historic fashion he realized he's not up to the job. After the election he was overpowered by Trump.

Just so you know:

Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams: This guy is completely useless. He ran his campaign on pushing for mandatory voter photo ID as his number one topic and won. The assembly immediately passed it into LAW in January 2020. Then when the tyrant governor started his tyranny and demanded fraud-by-mail voting to circumvent photo ID laws, Adams rolled over like a obedient little dog claiming it was a product of cooperation. In reality, the tyrant governor got everything he wanted and our side got NOTHING. Plus, he's been running around everywhere pushing masks and the vaccine. This is ALL you need to know that this clown will be just as bad as McConnell.

state Attorney General Daniel Cameron - He's not as bad, but so far he's been more show than results. He should be filing endless lawsuits against the tyrant governor, but has stuck mostly to anything that challenges pro-life causes and churches. He essentially takes a pass on everything else. His press releases are completely milquetoast and never addresses the topics KY want him to address, such as protecting our 2A rights, mask tyranny, shutdowns, oh and the fact that there are thousands of people that STILL haven't received the unemployment insurance payments that were forced on them by the illegal government shutdowns. He could easily sue the governor on that alone and still does nothing.

He's also done nothing to protect against the attacks on the coal industry. That may not be within his purview, but he doesn't even say a word about it. He's been all over illegal sex traffickers, but is silent on illegal immigration as a whole. He wastes a ton of time warning people about online scams. I mean WAY too much time. If people are still falling for the Nigerian Prince scam, that's their fault.

Then he also spends a ton of time issuing moronic press releases that are just political glad-handing. Apparently he helped some family who received an inflated water bill and wouldn't shut up about it. Then there's crap like "I would like to take a minute today to celebrate [enter political bullshit cause or made up "celebration month/week" here]" or promoting his radio show appearances.

He did do a solid job on the Breonna Taylor case, proving that the police did nothing wrong and getting them off the hook quickly, but other that that he's nothing but a grandstander who's actually done very little to show he'd be even a halfway decent Senator.

Not to mention he steadfastly refused to join the TX lawsuit. So, for someone who was such a MAGA guy and supported President Trump so much, he took a pass when we really needed him. Some made the claim that he was just astutely staying out of it because he knew it wouldn't go anywhere. It's actually more proof that he thinks of his own political behind first and throws his supposed allies under the bus.

United Nations Ambassador Kelly Craft - I have no idea who she is but if it's as bad a pick as the first two, I'll take a pass on her as well.

We need boots on the ground to look for and draft a good MAGA candidate. Any Pedes doing the precinct project route?

1
TheThreeSeashells 1 point ago +1 / -0

First things first. We have to fix the voting system or else any MAGA candidate will never even make a dent in the primary. I like the idea of the precinct project but it seems like a lot of wasted energy if things aren't fixed in the correct order.

I'd be all for looking into someone like Rep. Savannah Maddox if we're drafting at the state level. I'd really prefer Thomas Massie as a McConnell replacement though.

1
IronSpector [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't think we have time to waste, why not press on both fronts?

I'd put forward that we leave current reps and senators where they are and draft from the state level. Rep. Maddox is a fine choice, any movement at the state level to get her into office?

2
TheThreeSeashells 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree we can do both. Problem is the people in "power" cannot simply because they never do. There doesn't seem to be ANY action, particularly in KY, to fix the voting system.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard about any move to run Rep. Maddox for a higher office. I guess she's not part of the "good ol' boys club."

The reason I like Massie for Senator is because he's extremely Conservative and I think we can trust him to always be a solid vote. Plus, I've been to his district a few times and it's pretty solid MAGA country up there. So I don't think we would have to worry about a weak replacement.

Other than that, I do agree that I'd prefer promoting from the state level. I'm pretty sure Maddox would be replaced by someone equally as strong. Her entire district is pretty based.

This is bad no matter how you look at it.

He wants to take away the ability of the Governor to appoint the vacancy and give it to the GOP state legislatures.

This is BAD. Because he has his claws real deep in in state politics and he already has dude he's groomed and mentored lining up to carry on his vision. Not only his vision, but they have their own insane vision to likely go after because they have to do it bigger and better to leave their mark on history.

And why would McConnell just leave before his term is up? It wouldn't be because he knows he won't win. His ego is huge. He'd stay until the last day of his term if that was the case. And guys who don't have to worry about what happens down the road are the most dangerous since they can just support/pass/side whatever they want and not care. It makes them loose cannons.

Again, why would he just leave before his term is up? Is it because he got paid off? Is he worried because his wife is under investigation? Is he worried his name will come up? Is he being blackmailed? Is he being told to?

McConnell shouldn't be trusted, but he shouldn't be underestimated.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that he's planning to flip his support TO HR1 or HR127 and will vote in favor for it, which he knows is a death sentence for his political career, but has worked out a deal with Democrats to make it worth his while. HR1 is the voting bill. HR127 is the gun bill. If McConnell votes in favor of those bills, they only need 9 more Republicans to sway to get them passed and with McConnell being Minority leader, I wonder how many other Senators he can bully, bribe into flipping? He apparently holds a lot of sway and Republican Senators vote the way he tells them.

There's something going on with this and I think there's going to be some kind of play to crush the America First Movement with McConnell planning to step down early.

He wants the assembly to pick his replacement, should that be necessary, because the current governor is a Left-wing loon. It's that simple. The assembly should have taken action on this years ago. No states should have their governor select Senators.

The three picks McConnell suggests are shit (although I don't know anything about the woman other than that McConnell picked her) but they are miles ahead of whatever disaster Herr Beshear would foist upon the country.

1
IronSpector [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

The general assembly was always supposed to pick the senators until the 17th amendment, I advocate to repeal it. stuffing ballots is one thing, but getting all state legislatures to vote one way is damn difficult.

2
TheThreeSeashells 2 points ago +2 / -0

Repealing amendments is pretty difficult, too.
