Nice. Means this is his final term. You suck ass, Kentucky, for voting for a libtard dem for governor. I want McConnell out. I could care less if a dem replaces him or not. McConnell has shown to us to be just like a dem
I could see him either doing a last-minute turn around as either terms for his wife not being prosecuted, or else as an opportunity to stick it to everyone on his way out.
It's possible, but as of now he hasn't done it and I would be more inclined to think a Republican in office would refuse to break it if Mitch doesn't do it on his way out
The tyrant governor was elected due to Dominion and four years of propaganda media smearing Matt Bevin over EVERYTHING. At one point he criticized schools for closing because it was too cold (he was right) and the media wouldn't shut up about it for a week. That's how bad it was.
Additionally, Bevin's team ran one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen. All he talked about was abortion when he did a ton of good stuff, including getting Constitutional Carry into law and making KY a right-to-work state. He never mentioned any of those things. It was "I don't like abortion" and "I adopted a lot of kids."
Despite all of that, he "lost" by a very slim margin. We know there were shenanigans in the counting in the Louisville area. Herr Beshear wasn't even popular in his own primaries. However, the GOP just rolled over and played dead as they usually do.
Worse is that the current assembly has punted on impeaching the tyrant despite the fact that I count at least seven impeachable offenses in the last year and that's not just all over CCP Virus actions.
Side note: Bevin gave McConnell a strong primary run prior to his running for governor. Considering what we know about Dominion, it's likely that's the reason Bevin failed there. If we're looking for a replacement for McConnell, Bevin might not be such a bad choice. He just needs a better campaign team.
Beshear was elected off of a combination of his dad's name and how bad Bevin spoke. When you call a vast majority of the voter base thugs and criminals your not going to get many votes. Trump may be bombastic but Bevin was a straight A-hole. With practically my whole family working for the state in some form and barely getting by, trying to cut into their retirement all while demonizing them made a lot of ballots blue.
Bevin spent four years trying to FIX the pension system and was fought all along the way by special interest groups. Beshear ran around lying that he was going to destroy their pensions and the media was all but happy to parrot those lies.
Because the teacher's pension was completely unsustainable, they screeched the loudest because any pension reform HAD to fix that situation. That's what really killed Bevin.
He wasn't an asshole. He was just honest. I remember him giving an interview where they asked about hot browns and he just flat out said he didn't like it and thought it was a little gross. Unlike politicians who would lie about something like that, claiming, "I love hot browns, basketball, Ale-8, horse racing, bourbon, oh, and I'm going to paint my lawn blue." However, I've learned over time that honesty is often confused with being an "asshole."
Sounds like your family were mad at the wrong people. Now that Herr Beshear is raiding the state treasury to enforce his illegal shutdowns, how do they think that's going to help their pensions?

At least McConnell is a no-vote on breaking the filibuster
Don't assume he won't flip on that.
