He wants the assembly to pick his replacement, should that be necessary, because the current governor is a Left-wing loon. It's that simple. The assembly should have taken action on this years ago. No states should have their governor select Senators.

The three picks McConnell suggests are shit (although I don't know anything about the woman other than that McConnell picked her) but they are miles ahead of whatever disaster Herr Beshear would foist upon the country.

The general assembly was always supposed to pick the senators until the 17th amendment, I advocate to repeal it. stuffing ballots is one thing, but getting all state legislatures to vote one way is damn difficult.
