1.populartiy. Cuomo was becoming to popular. All the awards and ballwashing was a threat to Harris and Bai-Den. Its what you do when someone can threaten you. Look at NK/Russia/CCP. They take out anyone that can challenge the supreme leder
This was beyond the pale even for Dems in NY. Remember we only know any of this because De LaRosa admitted in a secret meeting that they covered it up. So a Dem in that meeting leaked it. That means that it was too much even for those Dems. They could have kept it secret and not leaked what she said and no one would know a thing about it.
It not Trump. Cuomo became a liability. I mean how stupid is his admin to actually admit that they covered the numbers up? Just straight up say it. You can't be that stupid when you are running a tyranny.
So popular guy who can challange you, and he is stupid by blowing the lid on the cover up=sacraficial lamb.
There's a strong, extreme left wing in NY's democrat party, more left than Cuomo if you can imagine. Bill DeBlasio and AOC, for example. They are no fans of Cuomo. Now that he's served their purpose of trying to take out Trump, they want to make sure Cuomo doesn't run for governor again.
Which makes sense to me. Guy got too big for his britches and now its time to take him out.
But I also think him being a dummy and blowing the lid on the whole fiasco accelerated it.
Again if we didn't have a few Dems with a conscious no one would have known what was said at that secret meeting. The fact that his aid let the cat out of the bag was not supposed to be known to the public. She probably made those statements thinking she was safe and no one would leak it. Which is sick in itself that Cuomo's admin thought that all other Dems would go along with his murder and cover up because Orange Man Bad.
