Some people in my family are this type of leftist and whenever I tell them my problems in life and what I want, so how does "you side" help me? They just accuse me of being selfish, even though "we're all in this together". It's like, well if you say care about me, why do you not care about anything I say? You just tell me what I should care about when it's not what I care about, how is that right?
Basically, they only care about you so long as you act and do things exactly how they want, which means they don't care about you at all.
I find conservatives are at least honest. They say they don't care about you but then try to work with a system where everyone can at least have an opportunity to get what they want out of life.
Those kind of people remind me of the groups who go out to eat together and say they'll all pay their share, then they only put half the amount on the plate to cover their portion. No one can figure out who shorted the bill and someone else ends up paying for the deadbeat.
