Some people in my family are this type of leftist and whenever I tell them my problems in life and what I want, so how does "you side" help me? They just accuse me of being selfish, even though "we're all in this together". It's like, well if you say care about me, why do you not care about anything I say? You just tell me what I should care about when it's not what I care about, how is that right?

Basically, they only care about you so long as you act and do things exactly how they want, which means they don't care about you at all.

I find conservatives are at least honest. They say they don't care about you but then try to work with a system where everyone can at least have an opportunity to get what they want out of life.

The companies actually didn't save anything on rent, because that's not how commercial real estate leases work.

In fact, many companies in my area forced people to come back to the office because they were butthurt about having to pay rent on an empty unused office.

That's not always true. My husband's work decided to work from home indefinitely. They cut down from 3 commercial units to 1. No one has an office or cubicle.

So I guess both scenarios are true depending on how the company is handling the restrictions and such.

Fair point.

But breaking a lease can be extremely expensive, especially if it becomes litigious. (Often the landlord will provide funds for the office tenant interior build-out, and factor it into the rent.) And there are no savings on utilities, since all facilities need to run HVAC 24/7 to prevent moisture issues, and all modern facility lighting are on timers. (Modern lighting is all LED, so it is extremely cheap on the electric bill.)

Your point still stands. The major corporations have learned that working from home is cheaper.

They really learned outsourcing is the best and your about to see a lot of it but rents will probably go down.
