To save myself 10 hours of driving each week that I don't get paid for and to not pile on 45,000 miles on both my vehicle and my wife's vehicle (this saves 10's of thousands). And I save enough on gas/diesel to paid for my real estate taxes each year.

Living far out of town will cost you big time financially in the end.
