It's shocking it has not been cancelled yet. Not one single Black main character in the entire series.

All the male characters will be female. The female characters will be females of color. Hobbits will be played by trans paraplegics. There are no white males in the production. If they find one it's all over.

As a straight white female, if they did this, I WOULD NEVER, EVER WATCH IT.

I watch LOTR and The Hobbit for the noble, good looking men with courage and swords and the beautiful world building...not for the women.

No, it's cancelled.

There was some stupid bitch on Twitter complaining about how Orcs are supposed to be an analogy for black people because they're dark.

She got a ton of hate though.

Tolkien wrote mythology on Nordic and Saxon history. There were no black people. So black people in LoTR doesn't make sense. Tolkien was known to be VERY METICULOUS and true to life. So black people running around wasn't a normal thing for Middle Earth. On top of Orc's not being black. They were the opposite of light and life. They're a corrupted form of elves. And they were more grey/green.

And there were darker skinned races in Middle Earth. The Haradrrim was a middle east inspired race. Just because Tolkien didn't write about doesn't mean they didn't exist. They just didn't participate in the war of the ring.

But that bitch was butthurt because Black Panther wasn't running around drinking a Colt 45 and rapping some Cardi B.
