I am an unabashed lurker that only comments when I feel the need to, but I could never imagine spending time angrily scrolling and downvoting posts on a message board where the majority of posts piss me off. If that isn't a sign of mental illness, I don't know what is.

To be fair, some based person could have downvoted you for making them vomit.
