Shout out to South Dakota though. The most based of them all throughout this entire ordeal.

South Dakota couldn't be the first to reopen ... because they never closed.

Is SD the only state that never "closed"?

67

That's fucking pathetic.

Only one guvner out of 50 with courage to keep the free Americans in her state free.

As shitty as Ducy in Arizona is, he didn't mandate Arizona to be masked up. He left it up to any city that wanted to do it.

7

That’s a cuck move. Abbott did the same.

3
lmao 3 points ago +5 / -2

then what would you call Trump for leaving it up to the governors?

If the governors then leave it up to the mayors, that should be fine too.

if the mayors then leave it up to the people, that should be fine too.

Federal government can’t ignore states rights. Trump couldn’t impose his will. Trump wasn’t strong enough to make the call, kept letting his team make them.

3
Duke59 3 points ago +3 / -0

And they all did. Peoria’s mayor issued an edict that threatened businesses with fines for not enforcing masks. At least Gov Douchebag lifted his unconstitutional restrictions on gatherings today. I am guessing a full opening of the state by next week. Great for Spring Training!

For anyone who missed it: Kristi Noem's INCREDIBLE speech at CPAC was the best one after Trump's - She is an absolute HERO for how she has acted with uncompromising LOGIC while every other Governor gave in to some degree of Covid insanity. She's the ONLY one who didn't order a single business to shut down!

Accepting refugees isn't inherently bad. The question is whether they are real refugees, or people who abuse that title. Since this letter she sent was at the end of 2019, I would assume she'd think (at that time) that the refugees brought in would be real refugees.

5
JuicyfearsMAGA 5 points ago +5 / -0

You contradict yourself here. It was obvious and insane from day 1 to anyone with a shred of critical thinking.

1
Swolehas 1 point ago +2 / -1

No it wasn't. Hindsight is always 50/50. 3% death rates is what we were hearing, not 0.05%, and there were videos of chinamen collapsing in the streets.

2
JuicyfearsMAGA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Please. We knew within days in here that the videos from China were as staged as the white helmets from Syria.

The 3 percent death rate was thrown around in February or January but anyone logical knew that by March those numbers simply were not adding up. And it's only gone down more and more weekly since then.

It didn't take 2 months to figure this out, let alone 2 weeks.

While liberals might say "theyre locked down because people were dying" the common sense response to this is we are the only two states to have governors turn nursing homes into covid units. Everyone local knows this. If I had to guess from my experience at least 50% of my state is red. It's only big cities (Paterson, Elizabeth, Newark, etc) are blue because everyone is on welfare and doesnt want to lose it. This is only reinforced ofc by the democrat rigging machine.

10
arse_garblin 10 points ago +10 / -0

It was actually five states that did this. PA, MI, and CA did as well. But your point stands.

3
Pede3 3 points ago +3 / -0

At least Wolf is finally being held accountable for the nursing home fiasco. Maybe the R will write a strongly worded letter.

It is messed up to see more liberal states finally opening before us. Wolf has to be bleeding tax $$, and that marajuana tax won't be enough to make up for the huge revenue losses.

dontdrinksoy 8 points ago +8 / -0

I plugged all the data in a spreadsheet.

Covid deaths by state Population by state

The conclusion is that states with strict lockdowns and mask mandates actually had some of the highest death per capita rates. Meaning the lockdowns and mask mandates may have actually INCREASED deaths.

Whereas states like Florida and Texas have some of the lowest deaths per capita of all 50 states.

The two worst are NY and NJ. They had the highest covid deaths per capita, and also some of the strictest lockdowns and mask mandates and even travel mandates.

Surprise, surprise! Fresh air, sunshine, exercise, a social life, productivity, and fun, makes you healthier!

6
guten_morgen 6 points ago +6 / -0

And herd immunity, before WHO changed the definition, that is.

6
tdwinner2020 6 points ago +6 / -0

The most likely cause of this disparity is that the states that went all in on lockdowns and mandates were also run by dem governors who were following orders to make things look as bad as possible, so they pumped up the covid numbers and now they look bad. The healthcare establishment definitely pumped up the numbers in red states, but they were held back some by the republicans, like when DeSantis started questioning bad testing.

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
3
Sildaran 3 points ago +3 / -0

When all this started heating up last year. Several doctors around the world where on line trying to explain what covid could be and emergency research. They pointed out very early that this was a new disease that seemed to have a greater effect on thoughs with weak immune systems. Some of the variables that determine immune system strength are overall health, physical fitness, vitamin levels like C and D vitamins, and stress. So their first suggestion was get outside more in the sun, vitamin d. Not to worry about distance much while outside since the 6ft transmission was based on indoor studies not outdoors where dispersion was greater. Take long walks or runs outside also for fitness. Get plenty of vitamin C in your diet. Find activities to keep your stress down.

So get outside stay active in the sun and try to find some way to de-stress.

Now what do you think are major differences between most people living in Texas, Florida, or other more rural states vs places like LA/NY.

Also of course once these doctors got far enough away from the WHO propaganda. They where all kicked from YouTube.

South Dakota, then Georgia, then Florida.

That's the order of guvners who believe that free Americans can make decisions that are best for their families about the seasonal sniffles.

South Dakota's Kristi Noem always believed in the free people of her state.

17
TheTelltaleFly 17 points ago +17 / -0

Yeah right before Brian Kemp cucked out on November 4th, he was kicking ass on covid. Georgia was only “locked down” for 4 weeks last spring and never had any gov mask mandates. He even sued Keisha Bottoms when she attempted a mask mandate in Atlanta. But for the record, none of it redeems Brian Kemp and he should be recalled immediately.

3
Toughsky_Shitsky 3 points ago +3 / -0

You want guvner Stacey Abrams?

Because recalling Kemp is how you get guvner Stacey Abrams.

3
henri_derelicte 3 points ago +3 / -0

We can’t retake Georgia without dealing with Abrams

2
TheTelltaleFly 2 points ago +2 / -0

Is that how it works? You recall the existing governor and that governor’s previous political opponent is sworn in? Seems like the lieutenant governor might play a role in the process but in this case the lieutenant governor is worse. We are just going to have to get rid of dominion, pass the rest of the election reform laws, and get a better slate of republicans next time around.

2
Toughsky_Shitsky 2 points ago +2 / -0

Procedurally the leautenant guvner would take Kemp's place after a recall. But the politics of the recall would taint the repugs in a 50-50 state, which would basically hand the guvnership to the Dems .. fat, nasty, far leftist, vindictive Stacey Abrams .. who still believes that she was robbed of her election after losing by 70,000 votes.

A guvner Stacey Abrams would happily shove all conservatives in box cars on day one.

But, at least you can be happy that you got your meaningless revenge on Kemp, as you trundle to reeducation camp.

Gotta think bigger picture.

Primary Kemp with a good candidate that beats fat Stacey like a cotton farm mule.

1
FuckPlebbit 1 point ago +1 / -0

Kemp is toast no matter what lmao.

He barely won election in 2018 and they're just gonna keep printing ballots in Atlanta, 2022 is the year abrams becomes governor.

EO 2020-12 is what I wish Abbott had limited himself to.

DeSantis has been good, but not great, with the COVID stupidity.

He was initially bullied/browbeaten into closing down the state for 2 weeks near the start of the hysteria, and then was end arounded by various lefty mayors, county boards, and entire agencies throughout.

For example, his Beverage board managed to do their part in the lefty "destroy America to get Americans so miserable they will toss Trump" campaign by keeping bars and restaurants closed for 6 months. In another example, he allowed school departments to make their own decisions re school closures, mask mandates, and so on. As you can imagine, the lefty ones like Tampa and Orlando and Jacksonville and Miami did their part, destroying Floridian kids' educations and keeping two-income parents from working.

He could have and should have not allowed any of this bullshit, so you can quit the Saint DeSantis act

On balance, he was way better than almost anyone else, and to be fair, he was beset on all sides by the lefty forces who actually DID all this damage, they surrounded and ambushed him continually even stooping to insubordination when necessary, just as Trump experienced. But he was BEATEN intellectually on a strategic level by these forces in many instances. That is the truth.

. By contrast, SD and Kristi Noem didnt lock down, didnt mask up, and didnt wreck their kids educations. Kristi would have none of it.

All spot on true. And you didn't even mention Trump's bizarre continued hocking of the poison vaccine .. and his family's continued use of the enemy platform twitter despite deleting the president of the United States - their own father.

A whole lot of shit just doesn't add up.

2
Methuselahs_cat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah. Why rush through an experimental 'vaccine' (mRNA), without due consequences, and foist it onto yr otherwise healthy children who are IMMUNE to Covid. That's probably the worst imo. No person in good conscience should be doing that...for what...perhaps delay the death of our weakest geriatrics??

There's lots we don't know. We're assuming things from our very obscure vantage points and naivety. There's still so much GOOD about Trump and the Trump presidency imo. It was still so important that we had him; even if he was a fake and Deep State actor (I don't believe he was btw) Still trying to get my head around the whole thing. There are levels of sophistication that are out of reach--we need those to piece the puzzle.

However there's one good and essential thing about either Trump, or the phenomenon he created--its finally brought together guys like you and me, hasn't it? Probably MILLIONS of us. Something has unlocked; released into the Universe to do what it will (or won't).

3

2
vitalsine 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm just happy my city refused to shut down. I knew the minute they tried to close everything but Walmart that there was zero science behind any of this

*sorry, i didn't mean too bold

1
XCorneliusX 1 point ago +1 / -0

Rural counties north of Tampa are happy and maskless.

3
KAG4EVRodysseus11 3 points ago +3 / -0

Of course some are, so are some in TX. So are some in lots of states.

The point is that DeSantis was strategically outplayed in many ways, even though he has been a solid MAGA warrior in a lot of ways too. For example, he ran a tight ship during the election, for the first time in decades FL elections were run very well and results all in by election night.

But my comment was just pointing out that he was beaten by lefties in many instances when he shouldnt have been.

5
tdwinner2020 5 points ago +5 / -0

He should have been ruthless. But also he seems to be learning on the job and he's better now than then. Considering how poor the Republican leadership is throughout, he's a huge improvement, and if he's the only decent choice, I'll take it and push for him. Trump got played much worse, and I would still take Trump if we could get him.

2
KAG4EVRodysseus11 2 points ago +2 / -0

agree, but just like Trump, if he was "ruthless" the opposition vipers would have used THAT as an excuse to remove him somehow.

Trump and DeSantis have been walking in the same footsteps, and I think ambushed and taken off guard by the same establishment.

Their "crimes" against the establishment have been the same: to attempt to be a populist chief executive elected by and representing/loyal to the public, rather than a figurehead puppet that does as the machine instructs. Interesting to see that they are basically being attacked in the same way by the same foes.

Nothing changes, nothing has changed. What Trump DID accomplish was opening our eyes. Any change is up to US and must be built from groundroots UP, these lone figures, even on up to POTUS itself, just cant overcome the machine on their own.

1
tdwinner2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, but DeSantis has the advantage now of knowing all of this. I mean, Trump too, but DeSantis is hard to demonize as Trump was (well, they will find a way).

2
KAG4EVRodysseus11 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree, DeSantis should now realize what he is actually up against.

I guess my main point was that he has done a pretty decent job, but just like Trump was he has been beaten strategically when he shouldnt have been in several cases. Trump at least was just naive, DeSantis should have known from watching Trumps vicious counterattacks from the machine.

1
tdwinner2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, but to be fair DeSantis did not lose an election because of this, and he did not lose the legislature, or House seats, or anything on election night. And now he knows and now he's doing OK. And he's been a better governor on covid than most of the others. We're not going to get perfection.

7
phibetared 7 points ago +7 / -0

Two days ago Key West, Florida EXTENDED it's mandatory mask requirement - anytime you are outside. So yeah, DeSantis is not doing his job for all Floridians.

And the police went out and ticketed people on Duval street hours after the extension was signed. The mayor is a DNC darling, rabid anti-Trump hating lesbian. (Who helped to close US 1, the only road into the Key West - BUT allowed constructions workers to entire (bypassing roadblock) because.... she owns a "construction" (i.e., shake down) company. )

5
HeavenlyTrumpets 5 points ago +5 / -0

I was actually considering vacation in Key West very recently. I looked up their mask orders and noped out.

1
phibetared 1 point ago +1 / -0

Good choice. A large portion of tourists have returned, ,which is good for the economy. However, police are still posted on Duval street for most of the delay. Nothing like the wanna be brown shirts (who got paid overtime for a long time due to the "emergency" - so are loyal to DNC planted mayor) overseeing your vacation.

In practice it's only masks while wandering on duval street... and walking into grocery stores and restaurants. It's idiotic, of course, but wouldn't expect anything less from the dnc kiss ass mayor.

1
tdwinner2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

I thought DeSantis had an order forbidding local mask mandates, or was it only forbidding local lockdowns?

2
phibetared 2 points ago +2 / -0

He signed something that sounds good but was legally ambiguous, just like a politician who wants to be US President would. Cities can still impose mask mandates (so key west did), but Desantas's ruling says they can't kill off normal business operation (or something like that). So they can ticket you in key west anywhere outside if you aren't wearing a mask.

2
Beef_Vegan 2 points ago +2 / -0

It forbids local authorities from fining people. I think it's EO 20-244.

Edit: Most local politicians left their mandates in place and have even tried to crack down further. It just depends on how much a business knows if they're going to ignore it. Some places understand they can ignore it and don't enforce, others still play the game. The local posturing still has people in cities convinced.

Still though, DeSantis is amazing.

Abbott is eliminating a mask mandate that he himself established. Why did it take a year to figure out that masks don't work and then make us wait another week once he announced that he was eliminating the mandate?

NONE of this makes sense... follow the money not the science.

Let's not go putting the Governor of Texas or any other governor re-opening their state down. It took them a while to realize that the government was going to continue to use the Covid virus as a narrative to keep us held down. I think they are all winners in my eyes for finally getting the nerve to stand up and say, "No we're opening and we're going back to work and school." It takes one to stand up for the others to follow. Watch as the dominoes fall. The United States has gotten tired of what's going on and we're not going to continue to take their BS.

Yeah I’m kinda tired of seeing Texas get all the love when here in Missouri we’ve never been shut down at the state level. Abbot played right into this commie bullshit and the people of Texas need to remember that.

spez: actually I think we were for a couple months but that was lifted pretty quick.

Parson needs to do something about the dipshit mayors in the big cities though.

True. Speaking As a Texan. But to be fair, DeSantis is as good as it gets.

Texas here and we’re far from happy with Abbott.

Love us some Desantis and Noem though!

I will vote any primary candidates that go against Abbott in the next election. He is done for in Texas.

Well Texas filed a damned good election lawsuit.

My only worry about moving to Florida is the possibility that they could weather-weapon the crap out of it until it is a barren sandbar.

Have definitely been to FL - definitely has mask requirements in places. You're thinking of SOUTH DAKOTA.

Fuckers.

Georgia was open May 1st. Realistically outside of Atlanta proper most things only closed for two weeks.

Except some places like Broward County are still taking businesses and putting people in jail.

Why is there an extra dot to the right of Sarasota?
